Hmm no must see moment nominees? Have BAFTA just quietly scrapped the category completely or have they moved its announcement to the full nominations release tomorrow?

Famous last words but I feel like she’s the only one that it is safe. The show is just niche enough

Oh I definitely expect (and of course hope for) her to get nominated tomorrow. I guess I’m just worried about the (probably unlikely) possibility of the membership somehow not getting to the show on time because of its late release date and so she doesn’t manage to make it to the jury and Sky are stupid enough to not put her forward as one of their broadcaster saves.
I’ve made peace with the fact that at least one of Blunt, Debicki and Winslet will miss the cut (and the possibility that there’s a world where all three of them miss) but Piper missing would honestly be the kick in the teeth for me when the show isn’t some populist hit (like It’s a Sin), she’s in one of the most acclaimed British dramas of the year and her performance is a frigging piece de resistance.

March 21, 2023 at 1:15 pm #1205358894I think she will be nominated but I think she will always be under awarded. Too many still see her as that young pop star with questionable husband choices and not the actress that she has become in my opinion. This has been changing over the past 5 years but these things move slow
