Not too familiar with BAFTA rules so question for those who are. How is Bad Sisters eligible? Are the BAFTA awards for both British and Irish productions?

Its principal producer is Merman Productions which is UK based. Ever since BAFTA tweaked its eligibility rules to allow The Crown and The Night Manager in back in 2016 a show has had to have at least 50% of its production budget coming from the UK to be eligible for the series categories and since the rules were tweaked to allow Killing Eve and Patrick Melrose in back in 2019 a show has just had to be produced by a UK based production company.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

For next year of course but reviews for Nolly are out.

    Evening Standard: 4/5
    Guardian: 4/5
    The Independent: 3/5
    The Telegraph: 5/5

Seems like a decent reception if not neccessarily as rapturous as It’s a Sin‘s was. Helena Bonham Carter is getting some very good notices across the board.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

RTS are announcing their nominations on Tuesday.

They’ve added supporting male and female categories for the first time this year (both used to be combined with lead into two single actor and actress categories) so it will be interesting to see what results they come up with, especially seeing as they’re the body with the closest voting system to the BAFTAs due to being juried.

Thrilled for Chaske Spencer. I hope he gets a BAFTA nomination.
