Pretty impressive for a show generally considered to be rather uncool and unacclaimed.
The one thing I will note with Emily which got lost in the Globes discourse (HFPA questionable behaviour aside) a few years back is it travels very, very well, which is an increasing issue for comedies.
I’m not a big fan of that show outside of Ashley Park but I do think there is a lack of self awareness by American creators that there is a particular brand of (usually satirical) comedy that doesn’t travel very well, probably because it’s so focused on writing, visual language and physical comedy are secondary.

I really hope her career post the show goes to new heights. She’s so talented.

It can only go up from here. I think she said somewhere she wants to drop an album, how cool would that be.

December 12, 2022 at 12:23 pm #1205191392Oh.. I feel SICK..
I am obviously disappointed that Minx (along with several other shows yet to be announced) is leaving HBO Max. I’m proud of the show we’ve made and am confident that the audience will come with us to our new home. Thank you to the best cast and crew in the business. #minxonmax

December 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm #1205191417With almost every contender returning, I think the series lineup is going to be the same except The Bear replacing Curb Your Enthusiasm. I might reconsider What We Do in the Shadows if WGA drops it.
December 12, 2022 at 12:49 pm #1205191460I’m sure The Other Two and Minx will be able to find other homes eventually (they’re both younger skewing shows that I imagine streamers would want to buy and the former was already on Comedy Central before moving to HBO Max whilst the latter is on Paramount+ in several territories) but I do really worry about shows like Julia and Our Flag Means Death. Older women and queer people of colour are already so under-represented in the television mainstream almost to the extent that networks hardly even care about them most of the time.
AppleTV+ if you’re reading this please save these shows!
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
