Started Poker Face (watched 3 episode) and OMG. Delightful. Episode 3 is 100% from a comedy series with the premiere being the most dramatic.
Does no one else feel we are underestimating Only Murders chances of winning Best Comedy Series by the virtue of the ballot being ranked order?

Agreed. If Ford’s name is read out on nominations day I’ll feel pretty confident about him going the whole way.
If memory serves, I believe that is how the Handmaid’s Tale pulled off an upset win against The Crown, Westworld, Stranger Things, This is Us & Better Call Saul.

Actor is likely Sudeikis vs Allen White with the Martin’s vote splitting.
Actress is Brunson vs Applegate (and even if it isn’t any of them, I don’t see Selena winning)
Supporting Actor and Actress have zero contenders from Murders.
Directing is likely Ted Lasso vs The Bear vs Barry
Writing is mostly Abbott Elementary vs The Bear (WGA winner)

No, there’s a minimum threshold of votes needed to win. If no one meets it first round, the candidate with the lowest number of votes is disqualified and their second choices on the ballots added until there’s a winner.
This year Ted Lasso has been met with less enthusiastic reception, Abbott is strong but not unbeatable and the Bear is polarizing — a controversial choice for a comedy series. I think Only Murders will benefit from this lack of consensus.

It’s definitely picked up at winter awards… it would be a shame to see such a great series go empty handed two years running.

Then the rules changed again: Ranked ballots were to be replaced by winner-take-all ballots—meaning a given voter would simply check off their choice, rather than rank each candidate from top to bottom—for 2016. This was intended as a corrective for the effects of 2015’s change, which at times made the Emmys look like a popularity contest. Essentially, an obscure performance on an underrated series would have a better chance of winning than before, assuming the fanbase was passionate enough. And a multi-nominated series in a given category would actually be less likely to win: Without the cushion of ranking, vote-splitting would theoretically have a far sharper effect.
