Even SAG chose Brosnahan who was dropped everywhere during winter season over her and Murders was really popular last year.
SAG is indebted to Netflix and Amazon. It’s no secret.
March 26, 2023 at 5:51 pm #1205364883That would make sense if SAG had blanked Murders, which isn’t the case. They singled out the ensemble and the Martins twice now so they clearly like the show, they just don’t care for Selena on it.
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.

My work is adjacent to the union. You are incorrect here.
March 26, 2023 at 6:01 pm #1205364897I didn’t even start this whole “x is better than y” nonsense. And it’s getting flipped on me for something that is taken wildly out of context. No, I don’t think that Quinta Brunson’s performance should take the victory. But I do believe her writing is sharp, fresh and laugh-out-loud funny. It’s probably the only comedy show that incorporates modern pop culture into the narrative. The overall concept of Abbott Elementary is brilliant, an easy watch with an important social message. And it deserves the recognition for that.
Quinta Brunson is the frontrunner to win the acting Emmy for a character that is based on Quinta Brunson, written by Quinta Brunson, and written for Quinta Brunson. But sure, Selena is the one destroying the craft?
What is being taken out of context? What is said about quinta here makes it sound like what she’s doing is bad or easy and doesn’t make any sense at all lmao. Taking what she does and then ending it with “But sure, Selena is the one destroying the craft?” makes it sound like you’re comparing the two in a negative connotation lmao. Like what does that have to do with Selena’s craft lol? You prefer Selena okay but that doesn’t have anything to do how people would obviously interpret this comment?
March 26, 2023 at 7:13 pm #1205364961I mean if you think her Disney channel resume measures up to the works of the actors listed … that’s on you.
You just called her a rookie and she really cannot be called that after all the acting projects she did prior to omitb, and yes, including headlining 4 seasons of another comedy show regardless of it being on Disney channel or not. The Martins having more projects is irrelevant (and duh with their age). But if you think her resume is poor to the point that she should be considered as a new actress…that’s on you.

Who is mad lol. Pointing out that someone should not be in the running for an Emmy win is not anger and it doesn’t demean Gomez in the slightest. She has immense wealth, hundreds of millions of followers, music career, acting career, beauty line and her fans seem desperate to elevate her into a level of accolade her acting performances at this point do not match. Personally I thought her best performance I have seen was in the fundamentals of caring.
March 26, 2023 at 7:35 pm #1205365006Personally I think that everyone should be allowed to discuss their personal winner without certain users jumping on them at every given chance. It’s not like we’re out here saying Selena has it in the bag, we’re just discussing a performance that we like that’s also gotten it’s fair share of acclaim despite the awards snubs.
March 26, 2023 at 7:47 pm #1205365032They’re saying, pretty repetitively, her craft is better suited for writing than acting. And I agree.
Tell them. Like is “But sure, Selena is the one destroying the craft?” supposed to mean anything other than what you just said? It’s pretty obvious that it doesn’t attack Quinta unprovoked at all and is very much supposed to be praise for her and her craft.
A Negroni. Sbagliato. With Prosecco in it.
March 26, 2023 at 7:51 pm #1205365042Quinta is a great actress and would be a deserving winner, idc if she also created the whole world as well.
I am really liking her work this season, she grew so comfortable in Janine that is admirable. I personally prefer Lyonne and especially Fanning but Quinta wouldn’t be a bad winner in the slightest, nor would she “destroy the craft”.He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.

Quinta wouldn’t be my personal winner (there are very few writer-actors that would be, though) but I think she is a good enough actress to be nominated and wouldn’t really have an issue with her winning.
March 26, 2023 at 7:59 pm #1205365058I can’t defend the “destroying the craft” part … idk. But I do think people have thrown worse jabs at other performers. Someone on here the other day said “Selena doesn’t deserve the nomination, she is too ugly to look at.”
That was a horrible troll not a regular user and no one condoned that.
March 26, 2023 at 8:01 pm #1205365061I fear that in all of this noise we have forgotten who should REALLY be winning…
FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)
