Emmy Winner Steven!
ReplyCopy URLMarch 17, 2023 at 7:31 pm #1205355999Thankyou for all the people doing the limited ballot experiment (I’ll probably leave it open til the end of the weekend). If you haven’t, I would appreciate it. There has been heaps of engagement from lurkers which is cool – it helps break the bubble.

Also if you are older than 40 or male (of any age) I would really love your ballots because the responses are erring young and female and I’d like a cross section that’s more representative of voters.
Please remember 6 for lead and 8 for supporting.
March 17, 2023 at 8:32 pm #1205356019Dang I would not have thought GoldDerby’s forum posters would have been young women. Totally expected it being twenty and thirtysomething men

I think maybe lurkers are younger? I am glad I asked because it is making a slight difference (there are a few actors who seem to be more prevalent on ballots that are over 25).
Also there is one specific person who is mostly just getting UK votes which whilst not super surprising makes sense.

And they may be. I lurked for like a year without having an account, and then another one or two after making one so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s others in that same boat. I think I’ve just never really thought about the makeup tho because there’s such a consistent six dozen or so of us on here that I think of GoldDerby forums as like one big group chat now haha.

March 17, 2023 at 11:35 pm #1205356074If it helps the following people are on at least a quarter of ballots each:

Selena Gomez
Jenna Ortega
Ayo Edebiri
Cecily Strong
Christina Ricci
Janelle James
Lisa Ann Walter
Ego Nwodim

Obviously we have contenders to go and who gets dropped for some of these is TBD.

March 18, 2023 at 1:20 am #1205356120Is Cunk on Earth eligible for these categories? If so, I may have my personal Comedy Series winner… a 30 minute episode takes me at least 45 to watch because of how many times I have to pause to laugh

I think it’s variety or sketch eligible, but Morgan should be eligible for actress, a bit like the SNL cast.

It’s only been five or six days. As we move in to April and May it will start to take shape, plus I suspect Succession starting next week will make a difference.
By the time submissions close (May 9), you tend to be past surprise contenders and you know if anyone has moved category, plus early contenders that have lost steam or returning contenders that have lost traction are more obvious. I also tend to think supporting contenders start taking a bit more shape by April/May, you start to get an idea of who they’re going to campaign (or who is willing to campaign) that isn’t already a lock.

Jenna Ortega says she initially passed on starring in ‘WEDNESDAY’ because “I had done so much TV in my life, all I’ve ever wanted to do is film.”

March 18, 2023 at 11:25 am #1205356425Omg can people please stop jumping on the young Latina for everything she says/does? People switch up on bright young faces way too much. Talk to anyone in Gen Z and you’ll get the exact same responses lol. She’s not ungrateful, she’s young.
