Hacks Season 3 is exploring Deborah’s severed relationship with her sister. They might as well just hand her the Emmy now.
This is just my two cents but I sort of feel like everyone who has a fave in this race should accept the winner this year is probably just who has the momentum when voting swings around (and that’s about 150 days away, so a lot can change).

What great timing.
Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Thank God I got 100/1 odds on everyone
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.March 20, 2023 at 10:05 am #1205357899I am really curious about how Beef goes with audiences. I don’t know if it’s the best fit for Netflix? An all-at-once drop will need to make a real impact, I think. Reviews are so good, but I concur it doesn’t sound like a comedy.
March 20, 2023 at 10:07 am #1205357901Sexiest Actor in a Comedy Series nomination is secured…
FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)
March 20, 2023 at 10:14 am #1205357906I think given the right campaign, Natasha Lyonne could be a threat to win Actress. She’s a very beloved celebrity, and I doubt anyone would be averse to seeing her get a trophy. She’s familiar to voters, and she’s got a great performance. I’m still keeping Brunson at number one just because I don’t have a concrete reason to take her out just yet, but I think Lyonne is third at worst and maybe even second (I’m not seeing a solid path for Applegate with that fall release date).

March 20, 2023 at 10:18 am #1205357911This is so bittersweet – can’t wait for the new season to come out but don’t want this show to end!

Ben Travers saying Beef is a ‘limited series’ ???

I agree, but I do think she’ll need the campaigning – my hesitancy comes from how Russian Doll S2 did nothing despite a pretty solid campaign behind her, great reviews, SNL etc.
I think I’ll keep Quinta by default but I remain pretty convinced Quinta is more of a writer/press thing and that’s not going to be enough to push her through with the actors branch.
March 20, 2023 at 10:25 am #1205357927Probably too early for this but unless we get a strong contender from summer/fall, Lyonne is probably the frontrunner for the GG even if she loses the Emmy.

I don’t really buy it running comedy this cycle, I feel like it’ll go to limited or even drama. Until I see Netflix update their FYC I will be hesitant on it.
It’s bad for Wong internal competition wise and it pits Yeun against Mo Amer (another A24 lead), yet they could do with a critical darlking drama/limited contender.
March 20, 2023 at 10:42 am #1205357946Does anyone know the membership size of the Performers Peer Group? I’d imagine it’s the largest PG in the TV academy.
I have seen a couple of thousand quoted, which sounds about right, but who is allowed to vote has become a lot more stringent after a change they made (I think) two years ago.
You can see the effects of that in the nominations I think.
