Imo, The Bear is clearly 2nd, it won PGA and WGA over Abbott and still got a individual SAG. Abbott only triumph over The Bear was SAG Ensemble and based on JAW’s win there, it might’ve won by a hair.

Hmm I forgot the Bear won PGA. Fair point. Maybe it really will just come down to the best campaign.

My biggest reservation about The Bear winning comedy series despite its successful guild run is the fact that the Emmys have consistently gone for more overtly comedic fare for the winner. Atlanta had a phenomenal guild run and snagged big wins but still missed getting the Series trophy, and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that something more “laugh out loud” like Veep won over it. (Not to say that Atlanta isn’t funny, but Veep is much more joke-oriented.) The big Series win is actually the point where I think voters do stop to consider the “comedy” in their comedy series pick.

FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)

Honestly I feel like comedy is the category that will be campaigned to death this year, not drama and limited.

Ted Lasso give we lost a soldier. Total count of soldiers now: 1

Mostly a lurker to be honest but count me in team Ted Lasso! Love most of the comedies in contention but that show still has to be my favorite.

    FYC:
Succession, Industry, Ted Lasso, Dead to Me, and Fleishman Is in Trouble in all categories!

    – The Bear was one of two shows to get nominated at all the major guilds
    – Won PGA+WGA (two awards widely predicted to go to Abbott)
    – Picked up an individual award alongside an Ensemble nomination at SAG despite FX shows routinely underperforming there
    – Won multiple tech guilds on top of this, including the most important one (editing).

It faced most of the same competition Ted Lasso faced at the Emmys and generally first season shows don’t usually perform like that unless they are actually in it to win it.

A Negroni. Sbagliato. With Prosecco in it.

I don’t know if that Veep run is going to age well, not because the show wasn’t good, but because truth pretty much became stranger than fiction now and it’s impossible for a new generation to see it the same.

When Veep started to win Comedy Emmys i was like wtf is Veep. Then I watched and understood everything, it’s so much fun and probably my 2nd fave comedy of the 2010s

He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.

“Selena Gomez, the influential superstar of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” was unfortunately omitted from the lead actress in a comedy category for the show’s first season. For her second outing as the dry-witted Mabel, she’s even better, making the chances of another omission look even worse for the TV Academy.” Quite the statement, but not exactly false…

I mean it’s admirable how Selena could maintain a career like that, work everyday on set while having lupus.

Lupus is one of the worst diseases a human can have, the constant fatigue, muscular stiffness and body swelling…
