Still plenty of time for Ted Lasso’s third and final season to take off, but so far this is not Best Comedy Series three years in a row-material.

In the end, it’s all gonna come down to who has the strongest campaign

I am more high on Ted than most of this board and yeah I think it is just okay this year. They’re spreading the plot too much amongst the cast which I don’t care for this close to the end, I’d rather they double down on the core.

The real awards experts and insiders had to step in

    For Your Emmy Consideration:

Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook - Succession
Selena Gomez - Only Murders in the Building
Elizabeth Olsen - Love & Death

So she is eligible in terms of episodes but because she negotiated a guest star credit she renounced the SAG Ensemble nom. Interesting. I guess people have different priorities.

Tina has like 6 SAG awards, i’m pretty sure she could care less about another nomination

Ted Lasso give we lost a soldier.
Total count of soldiers now: 1

“Selena Gomez, the influential superstar of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” was unfortunately omitted from the lead actress in a comedy category for the show’s first season. For her second outing as the dry-witted Mabel, she’s even better, making the chances of another omission look even worse for the TV Academy.

Quite the statement, but not exactly false…

    FYC:

    Sarah Snook - Succession

Ted Lasso this, The Bear that, am I the only one that feels like this is Abbott’s to lose until proven otherwise?

I think it’s reasonable to think that but I don’t think there’s enough evidence to suggest Abbott is that strong. They can win but their winter run wasn’t enough to make me think they can dethrone Ted.

Abbott will definitely be in the mix. It is impressive how with so many episodes in a season they have maintained their core viewership.

it’s probably down to which show doesn’t vote split as much as the others. I still hope for a flourishing finish from maisel which is unlike any of the others to sneak up and win

That’s fair, i think it’s going to be a tight race, but I think the momentum is swinging Abbott’s direction. They were neck and neck last time they competed: outside of the comedy series prize they took home the same amount of trophy’s, 3, and Abbott actually beat Lasso in more categories (Casting, writing, and Supporting actress) than Lasso beat Abbott (just Supporting actor and series). I’d be willing to bet Abbott came in a very close second for series, and if there was some world where members had a chance to vote for series after seeing the ceremony (and seeing Sheryl Lee Ralph steal the whole show), Abbott would have won.

So far season 3 of Ted Lasso is kind of mimicking season 2 in that people still really like it, but no one seems to be nearly as passionate about it as they were about season 1. Abbott meanwhile is just gaining appreciation, and I feel like voters are going to be impressed by it’s 22 episode season.

Point is I don’t disagree with you at all, I understand why you might be unsure about Abbott taking it, but it’s easily ahead of the bear. This is a two horse race between Abbott and Lasso the way I see it, and I think the good money is on Abbott right now.

I agree with it being ahead of The Bear, but I need to give Ted more time.

Imo, The Bear is clearly 2nd, it won PGA and WGA over Abbott and still got a individual SAG. Abbott only triumph over The Bear was SAG Ensemble and based on JAW’s win there, it might’ve had won by a hair.
