Speculation is a March premier since they finally wrapped filming but not certain. Shrinking was presumed to premier after Ted Lasso season 3 but appears they swapped order with Ted’s prolonged filming.
I do wonder if they will run Harrison Ford as lead or supporting?
November 30, 2022 at 6:42 am #1205171416Jessica Williams was Emmy worthy in Love Life season 2. Hopefully this show can rectify that oversight from the Television Academy.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
November 30, 2022 at 7:33 am #1205171474Not surprising news but the industry seems to have really responded to his work
Jeremy Allen White says that after ‘The Bear’ debuted, there were “four A24 scripts on [his] desk.”
“When the show came out, the phones started to ring.”

November 30, 2022 at 7:35 am #1205171480It’s obviously not the biggest Emmy precursor but I’m curious to see where the TCA nominate White and the show or if they’ll be category confusion like there was with The White Lotus last year.

He deserves it so much, He gave already everything in Shameless and finally he gets the recognition.
December 1, 2022 at 8:48 am #1205173896Kind of wanted to touch base on: what newcomer series do we think shouldn’t be ruled out (we’re officially halfway through the cycle).
My thoughts are:
No brainer
The Bear. Obviously. We know the industry likes the show, it’s well seen, well reviewed, good user scores, original etc, and also already renewed. It’s biggest issue is the “is it a comedy?” question, however, it’s hardly the first series to face those issues.
Possible
Reboot. We know there’s a solid level of support with writers, it has good reviews, and reasonable user scores. It does seem somewhat underseen though and hasn’t been renewed at this stage. Acting branches should have familiarity with the cast
Wednesday. A burgeoning monolith of a show with excellent user scores, which despite being a relatively atypical FYC play, might be too big to ignore. Not renewed but appears inevitable.
Not out of the realms of possibility
Mo. A small, original show with a lot of critical support that the streamer seems to have a lot of faith in FYC wiser. Notably underseen. Also not renewed yet.
A League of Their Own. Moderately well seen, quite well liked, a solid option for people wanting to support an LGBTQ friendly show. Also not renewed yet.
Maybe our read is off?
She Hulk. Desite a sense of dispassion around this and awful user scores, it was quite well seen with relatively solid critical reviews and we know the user scores have been aggressively review bombed. Lead is also a previous Emmy winner. Also not renewed yet.
Am I missing anything?

December 1, 2022 at 1:48 pm #1205174275So, and edit of the Wednesday dance scene went viral on TikTok
I see you doing my dance moves to @LadyGaga’s Bloody Mary. I understand she is followed by little monsters. I approve.
— Wednesday Addams (@wednesdayaddams) December 1, 2022
And the song used (A SMASH FROM THE QUEEN) is rising non stop on Spotify
Today’s peak:
.@ladygaga's "Bloody Mary" reaches a new peak of #64 on the global Spotify chart with over 1.6 million streams, up 21%.

Show is really huge
Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
December 1, 2022 at 2:18 pm #1205174335Sometimes when we’re just getting into the winter awards I get disappointed that we have to wait more or less until Oscar season is in its final stretches to predict the Emmys but I have to say I kind of like it because it’s so funny when some of the film pundits who know nothing about the Emmys decide to predict recently Oscar nominated/winning performers and creatives and they’re like 10 times higher in the odds than they really are in the awards race. Like if Stephanie Hsu gets nominated for Everything Everywhere All at Once I can’t wait for when some of the film pundits decide to predict her for Maisel over Alex Borstein. Or Nina Hoss for that Jack Ryan show lol.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

If Oscars didn’t help Chastain (Scenes from a Marriage) nor did it help DeBose (SNL), i don’t know why someone would be nominated just because they got nominated for an Oscar this next year.
Pundits will be pundits i guess.

Oh of course. I was just pointing out how funny it will be when pundits start predicting some of this season’s Oscar nominees for the most random of things when Emmy season gets into full swing lol.
Remember when some of the pundits tried to make Caitriona Balfe happen for Outlander because of Belfast?

December 1, 2022 at 5:10 pm #1205174554I pretty much just sobbed my way through the last 2 episodes of Dead to Me. The murder investigation is obviously messy and flawed but the show really soared when Judy and Jen were on screen together.
Applegate and Cardellini both need to get nominated again. They’ve never been better. And it’s so unbelievably impressive/crazy that Applegate was able to give that kind of performance after her MS diagnosis. Just nuts. I’m an enormous fan of Smart in Hacks, and I’m sure she’ll be fantastic again this season, but Applegate deserves the Emmy.
