If ABC wants it, they could really campaign Swank for a nom for it, she’s a two time Academy Award winner in a okay reviewed show that’s been a low-key hit for Network standards these days.
The problem is that i see no one talking about this show despite it’s ratings, like, everyone talks about Abbott and some people talk about Ghosts but i don’t see any buzz for Alaska Daily or Swank’s performance.
FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

I mean to call a spade a spade the ratings indicate the average viewer age is 65. It’s not going to be internet-buzzy. But a show with an average age of 65 is probably not going to make it in to the Emmys for reasons we’ve discussed previously.
November 26, 2022 at 9:11 am #1205167194I have to say Showtime were very clever to find a way to get Yellowjackets eligible at SAG and the Globes. They aren’t going to win anything over The Crown and Severance of course but by getting nominated at the winter awards they can only cement their position as a contender and give an additional bit of hype around the show just as it starts to air its second season. But at the same time if they get ignored at the winter awards it’s not the end of the world for th because they’re still competing with episodes thar aired almost a full year ago and they’ll have recency in the minds of Emmy voters when season 2 airs due to its Spring release.
By employing this strategy they have absolutely nothing to lose but a lot to gain.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

November 26, 2022 at 9:55 am #1205167246What a nice surprise Andor turned out to be. I’m a fan of The Mandalorian, but I doubt Emmy voters will want to nominate two Star Wars series in Drama Series, so I’ll be rooting for Andor (House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings as representatives of the fantasy genre also complicate the situation).
The cast of this series is also fantastic, from main to secondary roles: Diego Luna, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgård, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Faye Marsay, Anton Lesser, Alex Lawther, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Forest Whitaker …but as a realist, the only ones I would dare bet on at this point that would have any chance of being nominated would be Andy Serkis and Fiona Shaw in Guest.
I suppose it will depend on how the winter awards react.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

It scares me actually but i think it’s really possible. Techs will probably go all in for the show and them alone could carry it for a nom. A bit like Stranger Things this past season.
I do think it’s only nom ATL would be a series nom tho, don’t see it happening anywhere else, maaaaaaybe directing? But even then it’s a stretch since they go hand in hand with the frontrunners and ROP will probably not be one.

November 26, 2022 at 4:42 pm #1205167562I don’t know why I’m posting this on here but I was revising my guest predictions for my December post and why did the thought of Natascha McElhonne surprising with a coattail nomination for The Crown and then winning drama guest actress due to The Last of Us and Succession taking up the remaining spots and vote-splitting pop in to my mind 💀?
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
November 27, 2022 at 10:42 pm #1205168739imdb new ranking:
1 Wednesday
2 1899
3 walking dead
4 andor
5 white lotus
1899 would be a fun contender, a fresh diverse original. the freshman shows talked about so far have been very franchise heavy.
November 29, 2022 at 1:53 pm #1205170842I’m a bit late to this, but I just finished binge watching the latest season of The Handmaid’s Tale and Yvonne Strahvoski blew me away. I know THT is kind of old news at this point, but her performance has been overlooked for years. She was on a whole other level this season and deserves to be recognized imo.
November 29, 2022 at 2:48 pm #12051708851899 slightly up, The Crown down 50%
Dead to Me season 1 being in the top 10 (and without season 2) is interesting. A promising sign?

I think so. It’s up from last week.
November 29, 2022 at 3:06 pm #1205170900I know that Chucky isn’t the type of series made to win awards, to say the least, but after watching Season 2 I’m confused by SyFy’s decision to submit this series as Drama. If Cobra Kai can qualify as a Comedy, then so should Chucky.
Also, Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif are great.

I think it stems from them originally running Resident Alien as a comedy and not wanting them to compete with each other?
