Is there any news on if Succession can meet the deadline, just wondering because I saw on the comedy forum that HBO’s Hacks will not?
It’s already dated for March 26th with the season ending May 28th, it’s making eligibility.

I don’t know whether to feel happy or sad knowing that if Julia gets cancelled the only way a third season happens is if Starz picks them up (just like Minx and Three Women it is a Lionsgate production).
Julia would need to be cancelled prior to season 2 airing. Starz is only picking up series with completed, Three Women, or nearly completed, Minx, seasons. Interesting that Starz reversed a second season renewal, Dangerous Liaisons, and removed several titles from their streamer, yet they are picking up Three Women. Minx is produced by Lionsgate, so less interesting that one with it being owned in house.

I do wonder if The Last of Us has kind of eaten it’s lunch. It seems like it’s mostly just been in the mix by default, and with another hit prestige genre series I’m wondering if HBO will put their priority on the show that might start a new franchise rather than the one that’s just a continuation of an old one. Ratings are comparable and critics/fan response seems much more positive.
I’m not predicting House of the Dragon either
It missed every single main guild with the Stunt Ensemble exception. It could still get in on visibility alone tho, but I’m not sure it will.FYC:

I can’t see HBO letting go of the awards prestige associated with GoT without a fight, but I can see it just getting a very minor showing.

I also feel weirdly……..cold on a lot of contenders this year? i.e they’re technically good and often well written, and people aren’t doing a bad job acting wise, but I’m struggling to connect to a whole bunch of characters in shows in drama (and limited, comedy is much easier). I think it might be too many new shows and rotating cast shows at once.
I would never have gone for BCS in most seasons but I find myself drawn to that this year because the character development/investment is there.
