    When They See Us/Chernobyl/Unorthodox are Based On/Inspired by True Stories.

    they don’t fit with the zombie videogame.

    I don’t think that’s exactly what they were meaning. Just that The Last of Us is a show that’s kind of stolen HotD’s thunder a bit.

    I have the feeling House of the Dragon came, made a big noise, then went.
    The show is way down on IMDb, almost behind The Sopranos (!). Game of Thrones is also way ahead.

    I may be wrong but it’s a personal feeling.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    I don’t know why Matthew Rhys is so low on the prediction center. He is a previous nom for Perry Mason and a winner for The Americans. With Considine likely going to be snubbed, I feel like Rhys has a better shot of getting in over Luna and Costner to get the 6th place.

    Thing is, how many people will even know Perry Mason returned? I doubt that many will and I’m the show’s biggest (and probably only) fan.

    I don’t know why Matthew Rhys is so low on the prediction center.

    The show premieres in less than a month after having been away for almost 3 years and hardly anyone seems to have noticed. Add to the fact that HBO have shifted it to Mondays (season 1 aired on their prime Sunday evening drama slot) which only one show (Chernobyl) has ever managed to get Emmy traction with and that Rhys only just made it in for season 1 due to the barren drama field that year… there are a lot of reasons to be sceptical.

    I’m not counting him out personally because that 6th slot feels so wide open and as you’ve said he is a previous Emmy winner contending with a Spring releasing series but just last year Natasha Lyonne missed out in comedy actress for a show that got across the board Emmy nominations for its first season and became a pop cultural phenomenon, in spite of having a massive Netflix campaign behind her, because the show spent too long a hiatus and people more or less forgot about it. If Perry Mason suffers a similar fate voters could very well just deviate towards people with more limited passion in bigger drama contenders that they have actually seen like Luna and West if they’re struggling for the 6th spot.

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    I have a question for people – where do Ozark’s perpetual votes most logically get redistributed? My thought is Better Call Saul but I might be wrong.

    It’s not a personal feeling, there’s plenty of data to back it up  (it’s worth noting it’s not as extreme in the UK and some other countries).

    Its base was mostly 40 year olds, right? (or I am just confusing that with Garner individually).

    Saul seems the most obvious but I wouldn’t also be surprised to see some migration towards Perry Mason and Yellowjackets, maybe Bad Sisters.

    Older, Nielsen said average age 50 with a 50/50 gender split but a wide age spread (and yeah, all evidence would suggest that Garner has a base in line with Ozark).

    I am kinda bummed about it… I hoped it would do better during the awards season, but hey ,at least the vievership was great. Remember how many people on twitter/reddit wanted it to flop? And since you mentioned IMDB… look where is Rings of power AKA the most expensive show in history….. that´s embarrassing.
