They better put Snook in lead.
"EGOT" and "Triple Crown of Acting" winner: VIOLA DAVIS!!!!
February 21, 2023 at 8:01 am #1205312103and odenkirk vs cox… this is a nightmare
February 21, 2023 at 8:45 am #1205312158Yep. Even if it isn’t its last season, they should really try their hand at a lead placement this year. Don’t know if I can see Snook beating Coolidge.
February 21, 2023 at 8:52 am #1205312171HBO would be kind of dumb if they didn’t send either Snook or Coolidge lead. Barring any surprise contenders that we’ve yet to see, both would most likely win in lead over names like Staunton, Ramsey and Lynskey. And then the one they don’t send lead would likely be the frontrunner in supporting. I know Ramsey is also HBO but I don’t see her winning regardless.
February 21, 2023 at 8:56 am #1205312183I think Ramsey can win, her buzz has been building and her standout episode has yet to air. She wouldn’t win in other years but in this one it’s doable.
February 21, 2023 at 9:08 am #1205312207With Natasha Lyonne being out of the race, the door is completely open for Yellowjackets to get all three of their actresses in. All they need to do is deliver a good enough sophomore season.
February 21, 2023 at 9:12 am #1205312216If there’s something that’s going to prevent Yellowjackets going 3 in lead it’s the rule change and I struggle seeing it max out because of that. I’d have to wait and see the reception for this season closer to the noms before I’d predict that tbh.
February 21, 2023 at 9:15 am #1205312221Poker Face will be Comedy at the Emmys:

February 21, 2023 at 9:27 am #1205312242I think Bad Sisters is the main beneficiary of Poker Face getting shifted to comedy. There was always a risk with the latter competing in drama that it could steal the former’s thunder as a female and auteur led critically buzzed breakout streaming series but now with Poker Face gone it will be able to stand out more in categories like actress and writing.
Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!
February 21, 2023 at 9:47 am #1205312262At this point, I’m more and more inclined to accept that the six most voted actresses in the predictions center are the most likely candidates: Lynskey and Staunton are guaranteed, with the next most likely candidates being Ramsey, Moss, D’Arcy, and Horgan, with the surprise possibility (to me) being either Lewis or Cypress (I don’t believe they will nominate all three Yellowjackets actresses).
February 21, 2023 at 9:48 am #1205312266I don’t believe in 3 Yellowjackets either, but a second actress will probably happen. I’m going with Cypress over Lewis.
February 21, 2023 at 10:00 am #1205312290I could be wrong but I honestly don’t think Moss is happening. Season 5 is a tank with capital T. It was dropped by basically every single awards show and guild, and Moss has already been dropped before. It’s serving shut out.
February 21, 2023 at 10:13 am #1205312303The way people gun for Cox in lead actor year after year, and yet he losses it every time. I don’t see him happening this time around as well.
February 21, 2023 at 10:25 am #1205312310This years weakest category – lead actress in a drama – just got weaker. I wonder if there’s any chance Netflix can get The Diplomat ready for May? Even if it’s average, Keri Russell would stand a good chance of a nomination in this field.
