Netflix will not (and should not) move Debicki up after Colman’s upset over Corrin. If they want to push Debicki to win Supporting, they’ll keep her there, especially because Manville is a pretty weak alternative, and Staunton actually has a decent shot at the win.

Coolidge will win either category she’s in, but I’m of the opinion that she should stay in Supporting, and I doubt HBO would move her up when she’s been sweeping there. Why fix it if it ain’t broke?

It was enough of a struggle for AMC to get Seehorn nominated in a field of 8 that they’d be stupid to move her up on the last season in a smaller category.

Snook moving to Lead is the most realistic shift I see here. HBO has D’Arcy and Ramsey there, but neither are particularly strong (Ramsey is probably closer than D’Arcy, but I don’t see either winning), and Snook is FAR more likely to overcome them than Coolidge. And even if Coolidge went to Lead, Snook would probably still have to fight like hell to the win. She wasn’t able to overcome a threepeat, even with no real danger of vote-splitting in the category (sorry Smith-Cameron but you’re no Culkin or Cox in terms of competitive power). I doubt Snook is getting an Emmy this year regardless of category, but she’d be much closer in Lead.

However, Snook likely being a more sympathetic character this season could give her power. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Kendall and Tom are the characters who have won, over their much less likable/sympathetic counterparts Logan and Roman.

FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)

I think shows that have nothing to lose should probably consider bump ups – Interview With The Vampire bumping up Bailey Bass in a very white category comes to mind.

Wouldn’t even be that much of fraud/stretch considering how much her character will be central to S2.

Bella Ramsey (and Storm Reid) is probably going to have a meaty episode next week.

Both lead actress and supporting actress winners have often leaned young in recent years (Comer, Zendaya, Garner) and while Bella Ramsey is very young I still think she can pull off the win in what is shaping up to be a pretty weak field. If she delivers an excellent performance in her showcase episode(s) why not?

She turns 20 the month of the Emmys – it’s not like she’s a child.
