    The former should have been nominated at the International Emmys last year (especially seeing what ended up getting nominated there instead…) and it was quite jarring watching Reid in The Newsreader and then in Interview with the Vampire weeks later lol. Incredible range.

    Oh yes International is what I meant!

    Have a strong suspicion that Episode 3 might be one of TLOU’s writing submissions.

    Bartlett and Offerman to their competition after “Long Long Time”

    I’m crying so much guys.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    Fun fact: if The White Lotus goes drama HBO will most likely get 3 nods in Drama for the first time

    Have a strong suspicion that Episode 3 might be one of TLOU’s writing submissions.

    They can only submit a maximum of two episodes due to all the episodes on the show being written by either one of or both of Druckmann and Mazin. If Druckmann is the one who submits the pilot then HBO can additionally submit one of the episodes penned solely by Mazin (“Infected”, “Long Long Time”, “Please Hold My Hand”, “Endure and Survive”, “Kin”, and “When We Are In Need”). If Mazin is the one who submits the pilot then the only episode that can be submitted additionally is the seventh episode “Left Behind” which is penned solely by Druckmann.

    Since the introduction of the popular voting system HBO has tended to only submit the showrunners when it comes to drama and limited/movie writing submitting single episodes for Game of Thrones, Lovecraft Country, The Night Of, Succession and Watchmen whilst they have historically submitted multiple in comedy so I presume that trend will continue this year and “When You’re Lost in the Darkness” ends up being their sole writing submission especially with both Succession and The White Lotus competing in drama this year and the removal of the unlimited ballot. Either way we should know soon what they’re submitting as submissions open in a couple of weeks time on February 21st.

    In directing The Last of Us can submit up to 7 episodes (“When You’re Lost in the Darkness”, “Infected”, “Long Long Time”, one of “Please Hold My Hand” and “Endure and Survive”, “Kin”, “Left Behind”, and either the penultimate episode or finale). It will be interesting to see how many they submit there seeing they have both the showrunners to choose from, Jasmila Žbanić directed a recent Oscar nominated film and is a European Film Winner and BAFTA nominee, Peter Hoar (the director of last night’s episode) is a newly minted BAFTA winner and Ali Abbasi has generated recent buzz from Holy Spider.

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    Original cast member Phoebe Dynevor — who has played Daphne Bridgerton during the Netflix Regency-era drama’s first two seasons — will be absent from Season 3. The actress herself confirmed the news last week during an interview at the Sundance Film Festival, where she was promoting her new film Fair Play.

    It’s still listed as “Drama, Comedy” in many places, I wonder where it will land if it ends up a contender (https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/originals/hello-tomorrow/).

    Seriously, last night’s “The Last of Us” was just brilliant. I was a wreck!… This absolutely should be their Writing submission. Fantastic… I mean everything about the episode was perfection and Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett were astounding. Emmys all around

    At this point, this show is firing on so many cylinders and should get a ton of noms..

    Current thinking it will get the following noms:
    Drama Series
    Direction (ep1 and ep 3 just to start…)
    Writing (ep 3)
    Actor (Pedro Pascal)
    Guest Actor: Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett
    Guest Actress: Anna Torv (so good in ep 2)
    Music
    Main Title Music
    Main Title Sequence
    Cinematography
    Visual Effets
    Makeup
    Editing
    Production Design
    Casting

    And that’s off the top of my head.. And I generally hate zombie shows!

    It is drama on both their FYC and screener sites.

    I will never get over the fact that Phoebe Dynevor is Sally Dynevor’s daughter lol (if you know you know).

    I would like Bella Ramsey to get a nomination, but the track record of younger actresses getting in Lead Actress is hard. Unless you are Zendaya, and she is a lot older than Bella is. People like Milly Bobby Brown, who is arguably the lead of ST got in Supporting. But had no shot of winning.

    It would be really lovely if both Nick Offerman (The Last of Us) and Megan Mullally (Reservation Dogs) get a Guest Acting Emmy nomination for letting a stranger in their home.
