I do hope The Diplomat is actually acclaimed and Keri finally wins her long overdue Emmy. She should have already won for both Felicity (not even nominated) and The Americans.
Deborah Cahn is a talented writer and the list of directors for this season is promising so I’m hopeful the quality will be there. But it’s also really tough for dramas to have acclaimed first seasons so it could go either way.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

March 23, 2023 at 11:54 am #1205361376I know it’s Gary Oldman, I know it’s British not American, but the Slow Horses BAFTA nom instills more confidence in my prediction for a Writing nom.
Emmys FYC:
Comedy: The Bear, Cunk on Earth, Only Murders in the Building, Reservation Dogs
Drama: The Last of Us, Stranger Things
Limited/Movie:

It wasn’t nominated for writing or drama series there though (although I presume it probably just missed out in the latter with the jury).

Oh I understand what you mean. I was just clarifying that it wasn’t nominated in either of those categories.
