Not really, it’s a horribly competitive tech year and It’s better for Picard BTL so they don’t compete against each other because anything that didn’t cost $20 mill+ an ep is going to struggle to get in.

So you’re saying P+ cleared the deck for Picard and The Good Fight, both in their final seasons?  But that doesn’t explain their expected push for Yellowstone and its spinoffs.

I just love how you’ve evolved into full on Better Call Saul fan mode.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

I forgot to post about the last season on the other thread 💀 but I’ll just say it here: Bob and Rhea (and the show in general) not winning a single Emmy is going to be so criminal.. those last 2 seasons especially are just perfection.. I really loved Tony Dalton’s addition to the show as well.

I mean their priorities are Yellowjackets and Yellowstone/1923. They aren’t going to actively campaign Star Trek above the line.

If there is one spot left in some of those tech categories they’re competitive in (which is realistic this year) then they’re better off giving people who are prone to vote for Star Trek one option rather than multiple and risk splitting that vote.

All that aside, there’s an upcoming writers strike which probably factors in a lot more.

Better Call Saul vs. Succession vs. The White Lotus vs. The Last Of Us

It easily could be Succession again, but I love these 4 competing for the top prize

Premieres on TV: Succession 598k (up 6% from 564k last premiere) Yellowjackets 226k (down 8% from 246k last premiere)

Comparison with Yellowjackets for initial viewing

“Succession” on HBO and HBO Max drew 2.3 Million 62 percent above Season 3 premiere, 33 percent above finale. Season 3 averaged 7.2 million viewers across all platforms  (including weeks of delayed viewing)

“Yellowjackets” Season 2 drew “nearly” 2 million viewers across all platforms, per Showtime, 110 percent above season 1 premiere, 40 percent above finale.

It amazes me how poorly great shows like these do viewers wise compared to many of the procedural tv shows

    The Power reviews

    Radio Times – 4/5
    Primetimer – 4/5
    Empire – 4/5
    Radio Times – 4/5
    Evening Standard – 4/5
    The AV Club – B+
    Consequence of Sound – B
    Collider – B-
    Inverse  – 1/5

Couple of others that are a bit meh but no score

So sort of mixed (better on the UK side) but I wonder if that’s enough to get in Collette or someone?

Also multiple references to cinematography in reviews, I think this may be Watkinson (who has been nominated for Handmaid’s before).

As somebody who doesn’t watch The Crown, why is everyone counting it out this year after the last season swept? If it has to do with actual quality of the season, how does that explain the final two seasons of Game of Thrones?

80 percent, that pretty good. I did not think the trailer looked good at all

Lost SAG, lost WGA, wasn’t even nominated at PGA, lost the Globes and so on so on.

I feel like Jeremy Strong for this seasons seems like he’s pulling a minor back seat to Snook. Possible supporting actor or will he stay in lead ?

When has an Actor been moved to Supporting after getting a Lead nomination? They seem pretty stubborn about keeping them in lead, even if their role becomes far less prominent over time (ie Rob Lowe in West Wing). Of course, I know of examples of actors being moved to Lead after a Supporting nomination (ie Alison Janney, also West Wing).

Guilds, but the response is different in terms of GoT because it’s muted as opposed to divisive.
