The way it doesn’t even feel like the final season of Succession is about to air in 1 week! Where is the buzz? Where are the group interviews? Last season had huge buildup.

Am I the only one who thinks that Strong or Cox are winning even with the vote split? I know that the buzz around Pascal is huge right now and ngl I wanted Odenkirk to have higher chances, but I really don’t see the Succession men losing in the final season (same for Supporting Actor)

Unlike Coolidge with co-stars in her category, J Smith Cameron and Snook clearly split votes last year between Succession fans, giving Julia Garner the razor’s edge. I think the same thing will happen and Coolidge will see victory.

    I don’t think that’s it…

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Snook has never shown enough individual passion to win any industry award even in places where succession has swept, I mean she lost SAG to Ho-yeon last year without any vote-splitting…Just like Headey I suspect she’ll go emmyless whichever category she’s placed…As the female lead of an Emmy Juggernaut like succession, she really should have won by now if the voters cared enough to award her…</p>

I’ll be honest, I don’t super buy Cox as a winner (unlikable character, Strong’s character has more depth, not exactly the kind of acting rewarded in lead actor, Strong won over him), but I am predicting Strong at the moment. I don’t like to predict votesplits causing another candidate to win unless there’s a clear person who would benefit from it, and with Odenkirk losing SAG I don’t think it’s obvious who between Odenkirk and Pascal the non-Succession votes would go to (as I do still think Odenkirk has his fans). Pascal definitely has hype for The Last of Us and I like him in the show, but I don’t think his hype is for the performance itself as much as it is people loving Pascal as a celebrity. My opinion may change depending on how The Last of Us does on nominations morning, though.

    FYC:
Succession, Industry, Ted Lasso, Dead to Me, and Fleishman Is in Trouble in all categories!

This. He’s good on the show but it is more about that (not that I’m against it, I think Pedro’s great, he’s paid his dues). I think he’ll absolutely be nominated but I agree that I’m more inclined to see how the show does overall.

(However, I’d actually be pretty cool with him winning guest actor for SNL, I thought he was a great, memorable host).

I think it possible that behind the scenes the show/studio will push for Strong over Cox. It is clear Cox is not at all upset at the show ending and from subsequent criticisms he might have been a little annoyed at Strong winning over him previously lol

I think Cox or Strong will overcome vote splitting to win too. I don’t buy Pascal as the winner — it’s too quiet of a performance and I’m still not sure how the acting branch will take to TLOU (and all the genre shows) — and it’s clear BCS isn’t winning anything at this point.

The final season narrative definitely helps too. Not just because it’s the last time to reward one of them but it’ll also just make this season all the more buzzy. The fact that Succession will be airing till 5/28 is a big advantage as well. Cox and Strong will be the contenders that are most fresh in the voters minds since they’re the last ones to air.

Debicki should stay in supporting. That’s where she belongs. It’s a supporting role after all. She was in five or six episodes if I remember correctly.

    She was in nine episodes.

Debicki might actually have more screen time than Staunton, and she definitely has more that Corrin, who ran in lead.

Debicki is a lead on the show, no doubt about it.

He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.

I’ve seen a few people point out on line that there is something slightly silly about the online celebrity/thirst stuff with Pascal that makes him be taken slightly less seriously, and I think I agree with that? He feels like he needs a bit more of a serious campaign and would probably benefit from doing roundtables etc and leaning more in to the acting rather than the celebrity side.

Apparently the red carpet is tonight so we shall see if it builds up.

Three of those were serving cameo appearance. Ffs she had like 10 seconds of screentime in Mou Mou.

Which is not dissimilar to Zendaya.
