Zendaya faced worse odds to win her first Emmy, I mean it could happen but pretending like it’s a certainty is what I had problem with…
Nothing is a certainty, but I don’t think feeling Coolidge is very likely (at least in supporting) is stan behaviour. She’s a previous winner in her category and it’s relatively unusual for a supporting actress to win SAG so the odds are stacked more in her favour than almost any acting contender this year.

March 21, 2023 at 12:40 am #1205358503By Stan behavior I was referring to the statement “Coolidge destroyed Zendaya at SAG” which was unnecessary….Coolidge as supporting is pretty much semantics cuz TWL doesn’t have a standout lead character but if anyone is Lead it’s her…

Am I the only one who thinks that F. Murray Abraham and Michael Imperioli have more chances than the other TWL men?
March 21, 2023 at 7:42 am #1205358627Am I the only one who thinks that F. Murray Abraham and Michael Imperioli have more chances than the other TWL men?
Me too . I think Abraham is the closest thing TWL men have to a lock with Imperioli second .
March 21, 2023 at 7:46 am #1205358629Am I the only one who thinks that F. Murray Abraham and Michael Imperioli have more chances than the other TWL men?
No I do too (those were just my personal preferences)! I guess we don’t really know whether Abraham would have gotten the Globe nod or not but I think whenever there’s a lack of consensus in a large ensemble voters tend to default to the more seasoned and established performers (like with Rosie Perez in The Flight Attendant) and both Abraham and Imperioli could be easy name-checks in this field as previous Oscar and Emmy winners (with Imperioli winning in the same category 20 years ago for The Sopranos).
I’m actually very curious as to whether we’re underestimating Tom Hollander. He’s a Tony nominee who has been in so many Oscar and Emmy nominated and winning productions over the years so he’s very much on the industry’s radar (not to mention he was just cast as one of the leads in Feud season 2) but more importantly he plays a significant role in Coolidge’s arc this season and it feels very much like the type of smaller character acting voters have sometimes gone for in the supporting categories. When TWL was competing in limited there was chatter about whether Impacciatore or Richardson could be the Rothwell of this year but I think if anyone is it’s him.

March 21, 2023 at 9:33 am #1205358697I would be down for a Hollander nod. That whole dialogue with Coolidge was pure beauty (pun intended), also the monologue about wanting what you can’t have.
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.March 21, 2023 at 2:28 pm #1205358976To follow on from hopelesstar’s post with each of the drama series contenders ranked per their TVTime interactions, I thought it would be interesting to look at each of the top 15 dramas in the predictions centre and how they’ve fared on Rotten Tomatoes with audiences.

March 21, 2023 at 2:49 pm #1205358989The drops from Handmaids and Yellowstones 4th-to-5th season…
March 21, 2023 at 2:59 pm #1205358999It’s interesting because whilst there is some trolling in places (i.e. The Rings of Power‘s audience score, although really it deserves that rating lol) it does paint quite an interesting picture and one that isn’t too different from how some of these shows performed at the winter awards. You can argue that the drop offs for The Handmaid’s Tale and Yellowstone could explain their winter awards performances where they were watched but voters really didn’t care about them this year as well. Likewise whilst Better Call Saul has the highest audience rating of the pack it’s hasn’t attracted great enough passion for it to suddenly start sweeping the circuit (with it even being lower than its season 5 score) and whilst this is The Crown‘s lowest audience rating of its five seasons it’s still solidly in the early to mid 80s which probably explains why as some places dropped it this year it still got in at the Globes, Critics Choice, WGA and SAG.
Also interesting that Andor has as high a number of people voting for it as House of the Dragon and twice as many as The Mandalorian had in its second season.
