when was the last time, if ever, that an actor had two series lead by him nominated in the main category?

Lol for a second I thought we were in the comedy thread and you were talking about Atlanta and Mr and Mrs Smith.
Took me a second to realize it’s Pedro Pascal.

    Emmy winner Matthew Macfadyen!!

Shows from this century which had 3+ major noms for every season:

    D: 8 Mad Men (07)*

    6 Downton Abbey (10)*

    Better Call Saul (15)

    4 Crown (16)

    Handmaid (17)

    Ozark (17)*

    3 Succession (18)

Most of these will have another go at it. I’m impressed at the only 2000s one.

Isaac was probably relatively close last year wth the BTL noms for Moon Knight.

Top of The Lake Season 2 got moved to limited on a technicality but would have been relatively close for Moss, it got a Globes nom.

She should have been nominated for it. Her performance was far better than what that lineup ended up being that year.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

He was? Scenes from a Marriage didn’t get a series nom and it wasn’t even probably top 10.

Yeah probably true, but he was nominated for it. It’s not like Pedro is going to be getting a nom for Mandalorian if he could even get a guest nom for Boba Fett.

I just finished watching the second season of Industry.

is it just me or was the show operating on succession level greatness in the last 3 episodes?

if a show like Euphoria can blow up with the Emmys then I do believe that Industry especially Myha’la Herrold and Marisa Abela ( both turning in career defining performances this season )should at least be able to score noms next year. Ken Leung should be a no brainer for a supporting actor, he is simply phenomenal and I was impressed by Sagar Radia who was revelatory in the last three episodes,I love that he was given some good material and he devoured it, I would honestly even nominate Jay Duplass for this.

while I know both Herrold and Abela are credited as leads, I feel like Herrold is still the focus of the show, especially since Abela takes a  a slight backseat in the last three episodes.

Before anyone jumps at me, I love The Crown but I have this feeling that critics may turn on it this season.

I really hope not. I have faith in Peter Morgan as a writer and show runner.

It pains me to say it, but if our two fantasy series continue the way they’ve been going, I hope they don’t make it

I don’t think Moon Knight would be a series nominee either tbh, even with 8 slots. The tech haul felt mostly predictably safe for it (like Loki) despite the state of the limited categories. I would bet on multiple ATL nominees Station Eleven, Maid and Impeachment before it.

The Last of Us and The Mandalorian could be top 5 otoh.

My point is it doesn’t happen very often, not exactly how close he was. He was probably closer to 1oth than 30th.
