I feel like we should wait till March to be certain about well, everything.
Taking a look at IMDB most anticipated pre-released tv shows rn
Apple usually releases 3 episodes at once so the earliest that Masters of Air and The Crowded Room can get released is late February and the latest will be late March, i’m not sure about how Apple feels about overlapping two very anticipated limited tv shows though
Love and Death is the only HBO show left without a date so i’m also predicting March.
I have no idea about Tiny Beautiful Things and All The Light We Cannot See though
The Crowded Room (2023)

February 1, 2023 at 12:07 pm #1205279837Strange that Apple hasn’t dropped a release date yet for Masters of the Air, but the fact that it seemingly wrapped production a while ago and was front and center in their recent promotional ad makes me think it’ll be announced any day now. We’ll probably get a mid to late March release date and a trailer premiere during the Oscars so they can slap “Academy Award nominees Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, and Steven Spielberg” on it.
FYC: The Bear (Ayo Edebiri) Industry (Marisa Abela) OMITB (Jayne Houdyshell) Physical (Rose Byrne) WWDITS (Natasia Demetriou)
February 1, 2023 at 12:09 pm #1205279844I think they could be holding onto it because of the Cary Fukunaga controversy (which probably explains why it didn’t go to TCA).

February 1, 2023 at 12:52 pm #1205279910Festival premiere? HBO must be confident in it.
February 1, 2023 at 1:22 pm #1205279968I need this now!
FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
February 1, 2023 at 1:44 pm #1205279989Is Goldderby just guessing at these category placements or are they all confirmed? Just asking because Sam Claflin is 100% an equal lead with Riley Keough in Daisy Jones and the Six so it would be a major stretch if they run him supporting.

Tiny Beautiful Things has a premiere date already.
I could see Apple dropping a trailer/premiere date for Masters of the Air during the Super Bowl. Or maybe they’ll use that just for Ted Lasso. I think we’ll get a few shows announced during the Super Bowl in general though.

So do I. I think Masters is probably a better fit for the Oscars (not only because of Keoghan and Butler but also because I feel like there’s probably a natural overlap of people keen on Top Gun and it) but a lot of marketing people have spoken about the fact it’s harder and harder to get eyeballs on pre-release promos in recent months so peak visibility is critical.

The Oscars would make sense too. I’m only guessing the Super Bowl since it’s sooner and Apple puts out episodes weekly so they’d need to release it at a certain point in order to make eligibility. Also, I’m sure the budget is huge so Apple probably wants it to be a big audience hit (outside of awards) and the Super Bowl would have a lot more eyeballs on it than the Oscars.
It does make sense that it’s announcement would come in one of those ways though, as oppose to just a press release on a random Tuesday lol.

They dated Extrapolations and The Last Thing He Told Me as well. There’s also Five Days at Memorial, which I guess should still be considered because limited is a wasteland right now lol.

Honestly wouldn’t mind if Cherry Jones pulls out another random win.
