They dated Extrapolations and The Last Thing He Told Me as well. There’s also Five Days at Memorial, which I guess should still be considered because limited is a wasteland right now lol.
The Last Thing He Told Me is intriguing because Garner never struggles for press when she has something out, which will help an Apple show, and very, very rarely does TV.

She’s also an Emmy nominee years back for Alias so they’re could be a prestige comeback type of thing there if it’s good. Julia Roberts having been the one who was originally cast in that role makes things a bit interesting.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

I think Garner is a genuinely underrated actress and that category is beyond empty right now, so I’d be here for it.
It feels more like a commercial/audience play than it does an awards vehicle, imo, but the book was popular and we’ve seen in the past how the Emmys respond to shows that were hits, even if they were lacking prestige (Inventing Anna lol). She’s definitely top 10 and could be Apple’s main push here since I’m sure they’d prioritize her over Farmiga if The Last Thing He Told Me becomes a hit.

Bowen Yong (Fire Island) – 54February 2, 2023 at 7:12 pm #1205281742I always like looking at the predictions centre when it opens and seeing, but of course not entering, what I’d vote for personally in each category at this stage of the year and Allan Verrisimo’s prompt in the drama and comedy threads interested me even more and damn is limited/movie supporting actress looking like a wasteland. There are obviously some people who aren’t in the predictions centre who probably ought to be seeing their co-stars who have even less of a chance than they do are in there (I’m looking at you Harriet Walter and Ambika Mod. But based on what I’ve seen so far this year (a grand total of 6 limited series) I couldn’t even fill out a ballot of 6 from the predictions centre options and two of the people I’d have on my ballot are people I wouldn’t even consider nominating if the field wasn’t so dreadful.
If this field doesn’t pick up in the Spring goodness knows what voters who probably watch even less television than I do are going to do when it comes to nominations. Someone on here last year said that predicting the field would be like throwing darts at a wall because of how competitive it was but this year making early predictions feels like throwing darts at a wall whilst on a fast moving train.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
February 2, 2023 at 7:14 pm #12052817454. Judy Greer (White House Plumbers) – 412
I always giggle when I see Greer predicted for things because I remember her perpetual Instagram bio.

I’ve been looking at the Nielsen ratings the last few days and I actually think what’s happened is how many programs people are watching has contracted, at least in the US.
I remember when Game of Thrones ended there was a million think-pieces on how we’d never see those numbers again and we’d move away from watercooler TV but I kind of thin internet algorithms/coverage are making the reverse true, at least in the US. There is absolute shade between Murphy’s shows, Obi Wan, and anything else.
February 3, 2023 at 1:03 am #1205281905Lead Actor : Evan Peters – Dahmer
Lead Actress : Emily Blunt – The English
Supporting Actor : Paul Walter Hauser – Black Bird
Supporting Actress : Meryl Streep – ExtrapolationsFebruary 3, 2023 at 4:12 am #1205282009I know there aren’t many options here but Chastain leading limited actress and George and Tammy being top 5 is…kind of wild.
I could easily see her just not happening once we get a few contenders here in the spring. I don’t think anyone actually watched that show and it definitely won’t have buzz around May/June.

Shannon also being top 3 is weird. George & Tammy has no buzz and she got namechecked at SAG, maybe that’s also the case for Blunt but The English and Chaske Spencer aren’t along for the ride in the actual predictions center.
FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

I feel like people actually watched The English though. I haven’t seen a single thing about George and Tammy online lol.

Oh I agree
My point was the disproportionate difference between them in the odds. They only had one guild support, SAG, and only one is like top 5. Even The Patient should be up there if it was based on performance so far.
But it’s only editors and “experts” voting.FYC:
