The Amazon series I’m most interested in on a personal level is Dead Ringers but that one could go either way.
Love Jeremy Irons but did not enjoy the movie. Been a long time but generally have a hard time with remakes although clearly it is from a different angle
March 23, 2023 at 7:59 pm #1205361958I’m not particularly confident on Swarm, it’s more I think one of the Amazon series’ will get in (but probably only one) and I’m currently edging towards Swarm.
I am more confident on Fishback than the show.

it’s funny because I would be far more confident that if anyones getting nominated Keough is more likely than the show
March 23, 2023 at 10:08 pm #1205362047I’m only up to episode 3, but does this show really warrant a second season?

March 24, 2023 at 1:34 am #1205362108I think the final six nominations will come from these 12 series. The six in bold are my current predictions: HBO: Love & Death, White House Plumbers Hulu/FX: Fleishman Is In Trouble, Tiny Beautiful Things, The Patient, Apple TV+: Black Bird, The Last Thing He Told Me Netflix: Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story Amazon: Swarm, Dead Ringers, The English, Daisy Jones and The Six Trying to guess the priority for Amazon and for FX/Hulu is particularly difficult.
wolfali pointed out Amazon Prime has listed the limited series in terms of priority on their FYC site.

‘Swarm’ is listed after ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’, ‘The English’ and ‘Dead Ringers’.
March 24, 2023 at 1:36 am #1205362110For Daisy, I’m honestly torn. It definitely warrants it in terms of being a good enough show, the final episodes seem to have gone down extremely well and I want more especially if it is of the level of episodes 8-9-10 plus I want to see where the story goes next
However they landed the plane so well and i have seen so many of my faves fail to do that. Can they do it twice? Also it would need Jenkins Reid to write it or you may get a game of thrones disaster as the source material isn’t there at the moment. Tough call but the Jenkins Reid element would be key for me in any decision
I have to also say that Director Nzingha Stewart did an amazing job on those last 3 episodes

I’m not very big on the show, but if it is getting an audience (I wasn’t sure a week or two back, but it does seem to be there) and there’ a story, it’s the sort of thing that wouldn’t be a bad idea to recommission. They don’t really have anything else similar.
March 24, 2023 at 4:09 am #1205362173What happened to Genius btw?
The same thing that happened to Masters Of The Air and many others. I wonder if everyone is scared of a WGA strike so they are saving up shows so they don’t lack programming (similar to how The Undoing was pushed 6 months because of Covid and production delays).

I think almost all these delays are because of a possible WGA strike. Programming concerns aside, they risk creating a vacuum in the 2024 Emmy cycle if that happens and they run everything this year. It’s already a year with a lot of things ending and a pretty low renewal rate.

if they announce a second series would that take it out of limited for this Emmy run?

I think it depends on when it’s announced.

thanks, no doubt it will be quite a while to be announced then if it were to happen
Jenkins Reid has said on Variety she is definitely thinking about it and loves what they have in Keough and Claflin
March 24, 2023 at 2:37 pm #1205362831I’m binging Swarm and Dominique Jackson is in a whole other level, what a performance, I don’t think she’ll get nominated tho, the story is too weird to appeal to voters, I’ll be glad to be proven wrong because wow.

How is the unethical Dahmer show the favorite to WIN? How did we go from The Queen’s Gambit, Mare of Easttown and Underground Railroad in one year to… this
Impossachievable

The deadline for submissions is May 9th. If Amazon renew the show before that date then they’ll have to move it to drama. If they don’t do it by then it will stay in limited.
