I haven’t commented on this forum for years but I just hopped in to say: what the fuck is this category? How is the unethical Dahmer show the favorite to WIN? How did we go from The Queen’s Gambit, Mare of Easttown and Underground Railroad in one year to… this

Dominique Fishback oh my god, she tops herself every new episode.
Finally a worthy contender outside of Blunt.

So Amazon’s shows have actually been performing very well in searches relative to not only a lot of other streamers and networks this year but also compared to how they usually perform (by the time nominations voting ended last year for example both A Very British Scandal and Night Sky had garnered less than 600,000 page views). Swarm however has reached a higher peak than either Daisy Jones and the Six and The English have reached at all during their runs and has been performing slightly better in the week it has been out than the former as it has been airing new episodes.

Interestingly Fleishman is in Trouble has been performing a bit like The Dropout last year. Neither have set the world on fire but after having very lowkey debuts both have peaked late with the former still managing to build more interest by piecemeal in a way that none of the other shows that aired last year (Black Bird aside) have since the new year.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Just reminded of how robbed of a nomination Dominique Jackson was for Pose.

I have to say (having just finished it), as someone who has been very “I like it but I don’t have any real passion for it” on Daisy Jones, they nailed the ending and I feel like I’m net positive.

I couldn’t agree more. Each week I have watched the episodes and thought it was more or less OK, but that finale really made me like the show. Too bad the rest of the series was mediocre.

Just looking through the predictions (and also because I saw it on my Disney+ page and was going to try an episode or two) -I wonder if ABC might convert Alaska Daily to a limited series?

The season finale reads like a sum up, Swank already has a Globe nom, it’s seen but kind of on the bubble (it hasn’t been renewed), and it’s only 11 network length episodes.  Plus Swank’s (due any day) with twins so I can see why circumstantially they might come to an agreement to just do one season.

This category is very fluctuating in terms of quality each year. Last year was weak too.

This might not be the best place to say it but  I can’t believe there is barely any buzz  anywhere of how good Nzingha Stewart’s directing is for the four episodes of Daisy Jones that she directed. The IMDb ratings for this 4 currently lie at 8.2, 8.7, 8.7 and 9.4! The 8, 9, 10 (final 3 episode) sequence imo is better than any contending show in the category that has been released to date and I feel that after Keough and to some extent Claflins performance, the direction of Stewart is fundamental to this.
