I’m just over halfway through Daisy Jones & The Six now and I think the acting is fine but as  of yet, not win worthy.

Few could and Riley isn’t one of them! Loved her in Zola and was ready to love her as Daisy but she didn’t always work for me in that role. Found her very inconsistent.

Well that’s one viewpoint. The 95 percent plus viewpoints to the alternative on social media are another. That’s the beauty of Art.

8, 9, 10 is where it hits another level. It starts at 6 but 7 (which I like as a stand-alone NY portion) halts the flow a little. For me Nzingha Stewart brings the best out of Keough on her episodes in the same way Janicza Bravo did for zola.

I finished Daisy Jones, the finale was pretty good, but please not another season, the story clearly ended.
I still think it was barely ok overall.

So how much of a freak out are we gonna get on here when Daisy Jones gets shutout at the Emmys?

None I wouldn’t think. Plenty of deserved shows/people get shut out all the time. I think Keough is the only one with an individual shot but regardless of noms, she is putting together quite the portfolio which ultimately is what matters. Most fans of her are just happy she is doing well with all the tragedy around her. That said I think she gets a nom, the show I am 50/50 on due to the slow start although if voters base opinions more at the later episodes, those odds will rise

I am also very much against the feeling here too though in that Keough was far superior to Claflin imo. I will repeat few could pull off both Stefani from Zola and Daisy

You’re not the only one. I am kind of moderate on the show itself but I thought Keough was fantastic and really blended in to the 70s scenes well. She also had a really great presence whilst still being faithful to the nature of her character (although this isn’t surprising seeing the actor she’s already shown herself to be in the past) which I think is often quite tricky to pull off in shows about musicians, and particularly rock stars.

Comparatively Claflin was ok but very overrated. He just did his job and looked nice and that was that.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

Really didn’t wanna predict him (because no one saw the show) but atp I think Murray Bartlett will be namechecked for Chippendales even though no one watched. That category is BARREN.

    I do too.

I’ve seen more online buzz for Swarm than Daisy Jones & The Six. Just saying…

I would be living for Judy Greer’s career renaissance

C’mon guys, let’s give her the Jennifer coolidge treatment.

I think at this point (esp. given it ended strongly) Daisy is a perfectly reasonable nominee prediction given we are on about day 300 of a 365 day cycle. At this point a series that is relatively well seen and neutral-to-positive will probably do okay on a limited ballot.  It also feels like the sort of show that will benefit from FYC around BTS, inspirations etc.

I feel like the crafts are a bit mixed but it should get some pickup there too.

Looking at TVTime and both did well there (Daisy a bit better).
Daisy has 700+ comments on episode 1 and Swam 140+. Swarm is more niche but I think being more niche might actually help Swarm in a restricted ballot.

I think both benefit from being a bit different from the rest of the field.

feels like swarm being about stan culture makes it more likely for stan twitter to talk about it.
