HBO coming for Peters and Nash’s Emmys.
"EGOT" and "Triple Crown of Acting" winner: VIOLA DAVIS!!!!
March 30, 2023 at 10:42 am #1205369449They may not get it but I think Amazon are going to push very hard for a Daisy series nom
One of the actors put out a video of him going to band practice yesterday despite the show being done. That says Live Concert, Festival or SNL to me (maybe FYC event). They then release on Spotify additional show tunes today (so odd to see the name daisy jones on the singles chart) and Keough is posting videos of first guitar lessons etc
It’s been no1 on prime for 20 of the 27 says since release (no2 for the first 7 days of swarm) and you know they are making a ton of cash from all the synergies. They will push

is Davis just making personal assumptions or he actually watched a screener of Love and Death and he knows it is good enough to be a possible frontrunner?

Idk if screeners were already sent, but Joyce from here has the show and Olsen winning too.
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.

There isn’t any way both ‘The Patient’ and ‘The English’ aren’t ahead of ‘Five Days at Memorial’, ‘Extrapolations’, ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ and ‘Irma Vep’. None.
God, he’s always a mess.
March 30, 2023 at 11:54 am #1205369573Great Expectations’ first episode was so boring and bad. Sorry Colman but I’m gonna pass on seeing the rest.

it was so bad that I was surprised to see her so high in the predictions. Yes she was the stand out but surrounded by a low bar (based on the 1st episode)
March 30, 2023 at 12:20 pm #1205369609I took Olivia Colman out of my predictions after the reviews Great Expectations received (and also on the account of the fact that the show itself is quite woeful) but I actually wonder if she’ll actually still manage to squeeze out a nomination just based on how weak the field is and the fact that just reading the words “Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham” could be too irresistible for some voters to not check the show out and see what she brings to her performance (which I think might be worth adding has been quite well received in spite of the show having not). I find it striking that the trades seem to be pushing her as well, presumably for the same reasons.
I don’t think she’d stand a chance in a more competitive field and with the unlimited ballot but I can see it with the circumstances this field might end up in this year if the Spring slate continues to disappoint. I also think she’s a much more plausible prediction than Jones for Five Days at a Memorial and Pacquin for A Friend of the Family because I’m not sure I can really see Emmy voters checking either of those shows out (which is a shame seeing how deserving the former is).
Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!
March 30, 2023 at 12:22 pm #1205369614Based on that trailer Theroux looks really good, and Liddy is a famously colourful character. I feel like if he was run Supporting we’d be talking about him for a guaranteed nomination, and maybe a win?

Doubtful, I don’t think this role has ever been nominated for a major film or television award? Or at least in recent memory. I don’t see why her doing it in “just another flop Great Expectations adaptation” would make any difference just because she got industry clout in the last few years. She’s not reached the point where she’ll get nominated for flops on States-side imo.

Agreed he looks very good. Theroux is overdue a significant industry nomination and I hope he gets one here. But running him in supporting would be category fraud, he’s definitely co-lead with Harrelson.
