I think Domnnall Gleeson will be the supporting actor push for White House Plumbers.

March 30, 2023 at 3:40 pm #1205369737Great Expectations’ first episode was so boring and bad. Sorry Colman but I’m gonna pass on seeing the rest.
I’m just guessing whoever in BBC thought the Peaky Blinders guy would be a good choice for a Dickens adaptation has probably never read any of his books…
It’s now been 17 years since the last outstanding Dickens adaptation Bleak House...I feel old and thirsty
Also GE has been done to death… perhaps if they tried a lesser known text they might be into something fresh
FYC 2023:
Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Shayda (Best Actress)
Helen Mirren - Golda (Best Actress)
Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt - Oppenheimer (Best Actor/Actress)March 30, 2023 at 3:46 pm #1205369750It’s now been 17 years since the last outstanding Dickens adaptation Bleak House...
I used to holiday next to the real Bleak House as a kid pre world travel expansion lol. Creepy looking place back then.
It does need a reboot

Are double nods for different shows allowed at the Emmys? He could happen for White House Plumbers and The Patient.
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.

They are! Maya Rudolph did it a couple years ago for SNL and The Good Place (and even won over herself). Curious to see if it would actually happen… I think it would be more likely that on a limited ballot, voters would throw their support behind one or the other (likely Plumbers if his role is big enough).
FYC: Bad Sisters (Anne-Marie Duff) Cunk on Earth (Diane Morgan), Fleishman Is in Trouble (Lizzy Caplan/Claire Danes), Industry (Marisa Abela/Myha'la Herrold), Physical (Rose Byrne), Poker Face (Ellen Barkin/Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Chloë Sevigny), The White Lotus (Sabrina Impacciatore)
March 30, 2023 at 5:26 pm #1205369869Do we know how many episodes White House Plumbers will have? There’s just about a month between the premiere date and the elegibility cutoff and I’m sure HBO is smart enough to not let only half the show be eligible this year.
FYC:
Comedy: Fair wages for writers
Drama: Fair wages for writers
Limited: Fair wages for writers

5 episodes. 5 Mondays in May. It just fits.

Yes. I agree it might be less likely on a restricted ballot.
March 30, 2023 at 5:53 pm #1205369906I personally think this White House Plumbers strategy is quite clever. They have no room on the schedule to air it on Sundays and with it having such a low episode count it could risk easily getting lost in the shuffle so the only decision HBO had was to either air it on another day or air it in the next cycle. In another year the smarter choice may have been to do the latter but with all eyes being on HBO with both Barry and Succession ending this Spring (and most people streaming HBO’s shows at this point rather than watching them linearly) they have the potential to capitalise from a lot of eyeballs. Granted no show is popular on the scale that Game of Thrones ever was but after it ended a lot of people were wondering what HBO’s next tentpole would be only for them to be pointed in Chernobyl‘s direction. I’m presuming HBO are hoping to repeat that same strategy.

March 31, 2023 at 4:49 am #1205370214You know the way you could just tell from the trailer of Abbott elementary (S1) that Janelle James was going to be the scene stealing fan favorite standout of the show, that is the same exact vibe I got from Lena Headey in the White House Plumbers Trailer.
I fear she might actually be coming huns.

So… Headey is losing to her costar? Judy Greer or Kiernan Shipka you’re in luck.

Unfortunately for the aforementioned actresses, Lena Headey may end up being Janelle and Sheryl Lee Ralph combined, depending on the quality of the show, she may end up being the scene stealing fan favorite beloved veteran of the show a la Jennifer Coolidge.
