According to director-executive producer Lesli Linka Glatter, HBO Max’s ‘Love & Death’ starring Elizabeth Olsen will have the same tone as the movies ‘To Die For’ and ‘Election.’

September 27, 2022 at 9:22 am #1205099711they should honestly just combine TV movie and limited series like it was in the past and have as many slots as comedy and drama. All of the individual categories are already combined…
75 minutes also seems really arbitrary. as does discounting movies that have a cursory cinema release in like two theatres that clearly aren’t getting submitted to the Oscars, especially given contenders can play at festivals and we’re at the point where several drama series have had theatrical premieres.

I think* it’s an unpopular opinion but I loved Election (I am unsure if it’s aged well because I haven’t seen it in years).

Episode 5, WOW.Both Steve Carell and Domhnall Gleeson deserved all the awards for this series. Terrific acting and writing.

September 27, 2022 at 12:26 pm #1205100144I’ve been burned saying this before (said it about Danielle Deadwyler last year for Station Eleven), but hopefully I’m more right this year… isn’t Niecy Nash’s performance in Dahmer truly just too good to be denied? She is absolutely fantastic. I think the show will go the way of ‘Hollywood’, in that it hits for acting but not for series. Jenkins, Peter, and especially Nash, are honestly just too good in this for too many others to eclipse them. Am I naive?
In a just world, Niecy Nash would be just as in as Evan Peters. She encapsulates desperation, hopelessness and frustration so well. Both her and Richard Jenkins sit with me more than Peters had.
