Exclusive: 30 Rock Casts Bryan Cranston and Catherine O’Hara

 

Over the course of 30 Rock‘s run, we’ve met most of TGS‘ extended family: Tracy’s wife, Jack’s brawling siblings and Donaghy matriarch Colleen, Liz’s folks and stunted brother, Jenna’s mom, even Lutz’s look-alike mother. But the one (albeit murky) bloodline that has eluded fans so far has been the kin of hillbilly page-turned-janitor Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer). But no more!

“We’re going to meet Kenneth’s [family],” promises exec producer/star Tina Fey, who’s revealed exclusively to TV Guide Magazine that “Kenneth’s mom will be played by Catherine O’Hara and his mom’s ‘friend’ Ron will be Bryan Cranston.”

The scene-stealer from all of those Christopher Guest movies and the Breaking Bad Emmy-winner just signed on for their appearances, so there’s still no word on when or why they show up during the comedy’s upcoming final season. But since Fey tells us that Kenneth and Hazel (Kristen Schaal) will be engaged in a “non-sexual boyfriend-girlfriend thing” when the show returns, it’s possible Mama Parcell and the man her son loathes will trade Stone Mountain for Manhattan to counsel him on the facts of life. And by that, of course, we mean what happens when two people meet in the mating shed with the albino watchers.

Yeah up to this point Cranston’s only viable tapes for BB next year would be “Fifty-One” and “Say My Name.” However my guess is that the upcoming finale will end up being his tape. Who knows though. Anyway, great coup for 30 Rock getting two very funny and talented people. Do we know if this is going to be a one episode thing or an arc?

30 ROCK is my one of the most favorite television tv show.I watched it every season every show with full interest.It is comedy tv watch.When i missed it any episode than i watched it online in my free time.I really enjoyed to watching this tv show…….

Sounds exciting.

I still maintain that 30 Rock is STILL the best sitcom on TV and despite what some people have said, I think it’s been incredibly consistent. Season 6 was terrific as a whole.

30 ROCK (along with Arrested Development) is easily one the best comedies of the last decade.

I think if Season Seven lives up to become the best of all seasons, I think it can score across the awards circuit like it used to. I do think that it can win Comedy Series nect year and Fey , Baldwin and Jane can all win in her respective catergories – if it good 🙂

I may have to peak at the beginning of the season just to see these two, but I can’t do this show full time any longer. I can’t watch a once great sitcom just be mediocre.
