Admitting that you don’t get the humor or conceit of “Abbott Elementary” in 2022. It certainly takes a village.

Ratings for the initial airings of scripted series are almost becoming moot at this point. It’s all about how well a show does in delayed viewing and on affiliated streaming platforms.

Look at something like CSI: Vegas, which had very low live viewership numbers in its first season but did very well on Paramount +, leading to a renewal.

Very cute nod, Twitter is eating it up. (All they need is Lindsay to make a cameo as her goddaughter or something now lol)

I’m just realizing she was in The Parent Trap, wow. Very very excited for these upcoming episodes, it’ll be really exciting getting to see a glimpse of the characters’ home lives. So far I feel like we’ve only seen a bit of Janine’s with the Tariq plotline. Also the plotlines for both these episodes seem like very fun, classic sitcom storylines. I’m also excited for the combined grade 2/3 plotline, because Abbott always does such an amazing job whenever it tackles school difficulties.

Another great episode. The story samurai was cheesy great. I also liked the 2nd/3rd grade combined glass.

Abbott has been KILLING it with these three episodes. I’ve always loved a heartfelt comedy and this episode’s focus on Janine and Jacob’s friendship shows it. Chris Perfetti is perfect. One thing I noticed is that they start doing more with the kids, getting them in on the jokes and giving them more lines.

Also, THAT guest, I’m screamingggg. It will be interesting what will happen throughout the season with that character.

Peak Jacob! Peak Ava! Loved this episode. Especially thrilled for Chris Perfetti, who I think gets lost in the shuffle in terms of awards consideration. I would have easily nominated him last year, and now he has an early submission tape contender. It’s also nice to see the kids being brought in more screentime-wise with the jokes and storylines. That was a well-earned casting Emmy win.

Ashley better be a recurring character! The actress was hilarious on Curb, eagerly waiting to see more of her.

    PLEASE Not Maria Sofia haha

    Loved it

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

Definitely a fine showcase for Chris Perfetti.

It’s amazing all the detail and moments they packed into 22 minutes. No sophomore slump happening here.

After an episode like this, I struggle to see a world in which the core ensemble of this show doesn’t all get Emmy nominations next year. This was both Williams’ and Walters’ best episode of the series to date. The editing specifically in this episode really allowed some of the quick wit to shine through in a way it hadn’t before (not a dig, just a new approach IMO). This season so far is giving me early “Parks and Rec” vibes, never a bad thing in my book. Ralph hasn’t really had a showcase episode yet, but I know that’s coming. It’s incredible to watch this show and see everyone operating at such a high level with the confidence of the success of the first season clearly influencing their work.

Nice to see Lisa Ann Walter receive a showcase like this. It looks like they’re getting around to the entire ensemble this season, and a Melissa episode was overdue. Lauren Weedman is great casting as her sister, and now the door’s opened with mentions of Janine’s estranged sister and negligent mother. Surprise cameo from Vin Diesel lmao? I did hope for more Ava scenes in an episode titled “The Principal’s Office,” but even with limited screentime, Janelle James continues to kill it. The camera crews filming the teachers after-hours stretches plausibility, but there’s nothing to be done with that in a mockumentary format, I guess. These were the same issues “The Office” faced, especially near the end seasons when things went off the rails. Also, Mr. Johnson ringing the SHAME! bell for Gregory in the hallway, his mind lol! Give William Stanford Davis his standalone episode too with the full-season order, ABC!
