It’s new and highly controversial while making viewers understand if not sympathetic to the main character, in no less part due to the brilliant acting. I personally didn’t enjoy the writing there but my guess is this will be the bafta nom. Jodie’s is very good but will have julie walters comparisons to overcome just like every other remade monologue.

Loved the concept and format of the show. Not seen the original so I’m so far impressed by the writing. Staunton was amazing in this episode, fully deserving of a guest actress nomination next year. The story was both funny and emotional at the same time.

Didn’t like Harriet Walter’s episode, the story just didn’t flow and her performance didn’t wow me. Sarah Lancashire was amazing, quite a deep story, good writing. Jodie was amazing, great episode as well.

I was never a fan of the original Soldiering On (though Stephanie Cole was great in it). Glad you enjoyed Jodie’s, I’m hoping to watch that one soon.
