Yeah, I don’t think it was lazy as much as specific. And that specificity made it esoteric almost. It was least favorite episode of the season so far, though.

A whole episode of Paper Boi, finally. He’s such a great character. I liked this episode.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

While I agree with the sentiment that Donald Glover has no shot at winning this year, I still think he will be nominated just because he’s so involved in the show. And this season has been pretty great even if they have had a bunch of stand alone episodes that don’t involve the regular cast. This week’s episode was amazing again.

I feel like even if he can’t win for acting Glover has a sincere shot at winning for Directing again this year. And Bryan Tyree Henry has a genuine shot at winning, although it’s an incredibly tight field.

I know people don’t think anyone is really talking about it but the subreddit episode discussions are always pretty big with thousands of comments between the live thread and the post episode discussion thread. I expect Atlanta to continue to be a big presence on nomination day.

Donald 100% deserves a Directing AND Writing nomination for Rich Wigga Poor Wigga. Incredible

While I am really loving this new season, it kind of feels like this show is past the point where it can win anything above the line. Henry is its best shot at a trophy, but I see Goldstein repeating over him pretty easily.

FYC: Pamela Adlon (Better Things) Rose Byrne (Physical) Danielle Deadwyler (Station Eleven) Elle Fanning (The Great) Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass) Margaret Qualley (Maid) Renee Rapp (The Sex Lives of College Girls) Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets) Heléne Yorke (The Other Two)

Love Ted Lasso but Goldstein didn’t deserve to win last year with no competition let alone this year when he’s being outperformed by like 5 other actors.

He deserved for his season 2 performance, which would have been awarded this September. However the Academy gave it to him in advance for the wrong season. He has no need to win for season 2 as he already won it (obv it won’t play out like this) …

Also I have my fingers and toes crossed for Anthony Carrigan, if they give me something more to do this season. But BTH is very deserving too. He’s the only one from the show who is.

Zazie Beetz was FANTASTIC in the season finale, a very well-made episode. Stefani Robinson NEVER misses. Would love to see Beetz nominated in guest, but they’ll almost definitely submit her in supporting anyway.

Really don’t know how to feel about the finale or the season in general (it’s probably my least favorite) but at least they finally gave Beetz something to do.

When the smoke settles this will be considered one of the best seasons of television ever.

    Agreed.

Incredible season. 9/10. Only thing keeping me from giving it a ten is that I feel Tarrare shouldn’t have been the finale. It should have been the penultimate episode and either Cancer Attack or New Jazz should have been the finale.

I sincerely hope Donald Glover gets writing and directing nominations for Rich Wigga Poor Wigga and i’ll be rooting for him to win both but I REALLY feel he deserves that writing win, he’s one of the greatest television screenwriters of the current era.

I still don’t know how I feel about this season, but weirdly, I think I prefer the episodes without the main cast. I’ve found them more capturing.

But yeah, I don’t see the show having any shot at winning an Emmy above the line. Maybe writing or directing, but it’s a competitive year on the comedy side.

Bryan Tyree Henry could totally win supporting actor. He has a great tape.

I literally love the show and I liked Season 3 but it wasn’t nowhere near as good as Season 1 and Season 2.
