What a freaking RIDE this episode was. That chase scene is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen. Still in shock about how good this was.

Ohhhh hahahahaha I love this show. 710N was a cinematic masterpiece. Vanessa Bayer was fantastic as was Jessy Hodges, but Fred Melamed made me absolutely cackle.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

Both Episode 1 “forgiving jeff” and Episode 6 “710N” are really well directed episodes by Bill Hader. Of the two, I’m curious as to which episode will be Hader’s Emmy submission for Directing? (Neglecting the final two episodes just for a moment).

I am certain he will submit 710N. Listening to the podcast after the show, the level of planning in the execution of this 30 minute episode was insane and took months of involvement especially with the stunt teams, the cameras and the editing, far longer than any other episode.

Totally unrelated but has anyone else noticed Alec Berg has been AWOL this season? Hader hasn’t mentioned him at all but he otherwise takes care to mention every crew member and actor by name in recognition of their work on each episode, even naming each writer that came up with a specific joke or line. Nor has Berg tweeted anything about it except for the first episode.

Re: Alec – he did some interview for episode 2 and I think he did another interview for the last few eps (eps 4+5) that got merged in with Bill’s interview for Indiewire (the one about sally) in addition to him being at the TCA thing for the show earlier this year. I also remember Bill mentioned that he wasn’t at the premiere because he had a family matter to attend to.

(also if i quoted you twice, it was a typo and i’m down with covid right now, so that’s why shdjkghj)

Sarah Goldberg should submit tonight’s episode as her tape if nominated. Just wow. 👏

    Sarah Goldberg did it again.

(And if he is nominated, I assume that will be Stephen Root’s submission)

She should definitely go with this, yes (unless she somehow tops herself in the finale). “all the sauces” would also be an excellent choice for her. Goldberg is absolutely killing it.

Sarah Goldberg just gets better and better each episode, but she was just a freaking killer this episode. I love that the show was playing around with Sally’s morality this season, and then reminded us that Sally, Gene, Barry and even Fuches are all these strange mirrors of each other in a way.

Hader was incredible with just a word or two of dialogue, but his directing was even better. The scenes on the beach, the moment he’s being taken away on a stretcher and looks back at the horror show in the car…

Sarah Goldberg should win at this point. But I thought she would win last time. I miss when tapes mattered more.

Barry S3 Ep 7 “candy asses”

-Unpopular Opinion but Sarah Goldberg’s outburst in the elevator felt really fake to me although I found her scene with her manager to be realistic.

-Barry ‘s survival for such a long time after being poisoned makes no sense.

-Unexplained and random plot of Ryan’s father.

-Jim Moss stole every scene he was in.

-Stephen Root is terrific in this episode. Especially his scene with Jim Moss in the car and the interrogation.

-Loving the subplot of Albert and intrigued to see how he processes/reacts to what his dear friend Barry has done.

-I thought Sally was awful to Natalie during the production of Joplin, so kinda was rooting for Natalie to get her own show.

    Grade: B+/B
