ballot pick reveals always feel fake and rarely align with the winners. I tend to believe people make up who they voted for to not risk being revealed as having revealed their vote. Honestly I find them more helpful for who is not going to win by seeing who they claim they voted for.

tfw dopesick pulls it out in the end 😊

The Severance quote is hardly a “gem”. It’s flippant BS. That show was incredibly original, brilliantly written and directed, and beautifully made from top to bottom. It’s also very timely and relevant.
Watched 2/9 episodes and “didn’t get it”? No kidding! That’s like reading the first 20 pages of a book and giving up. I’ve yet to find anyone who watched the entire show and didn’t like it.

Call me crazy, but I feel like the nominated shows/performers/etc. deserve to actually be watched in full before someone votes on which one is best. Didn’t have time to watch everything in a category? Fine! We’re all busy! Just don’t vote if you don’t actually know what you’re voting for (or against)! I’m obviously just screaming into the night; that will never happen. Just makes me angry to see such disrespect for a show that I thought was extraordinary.

    rant.over.

“Gem” as in insightful about the minds of an Academy voter, not a reflection of the quality or lack of quality of “Severance.” That notion shouldn’t have to be spelled out.

Yasss! Let’s go! First one released today:

“I was happy to see that Jimmy Fallon did not get nominated. The Tonight Show used to be important; now, it’s just fluff.”

That word is good for describing nearly every talk show on television.

No but Fallon can barely speak English.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.
