Inspired by this thread on the film side of Gold Derby, which Emmy wins that are often met with the most divisive feelings do you actually happen to agree/feel content with?

I do not know what season people who think Oh should have beaten Comer in S2 of Killing Eve are watching.
ReplyCopy URLApril 16, 2022 at 6:32 pm #1204919605It is for a lot of people and on quite a lot of boards.
I’ve never seen anyone have a problem with her win but okay..
ReplyCopy URLApril 16, 2022 at 6:34 pm #1204919607I guess it’s hard to really find a win that’s so controversial considering how little they’re talked about outside of forums like these but I guess the one that instantly comes to my head is Maria Schrader’s directing win for Unorthodox two years ago. She wasn’t my first choice in that category (or even for that matter my second) but I thought she really aced what would be a monumental task for any director of a budget foreign production. Telling a very distinctive and rather difficult story for a variety of reasons with a very lyrical, human and relatable lens. I’m not a big fan of basing direction on “visuals” but I thought the change in the show’s aesthetic as Esty’s journey progressed (and the contrast between her experience of Berlin with that of Yanky’s) were really smart choices when it came to delivering the show’s commentary.

Yeah I disagree. On this forum people who didn’t even like Schitt’s Creek at all were rooting for her and she was the first/second choice for most of those who were rooting for the show lol (and understandably so, she was excellent).

She was my first but I literally gasped when she won. I wasn’t expecting it.

I agree with this. Oh was win worthy in season 1 and the stronger lead in both hat season and season 4 but even if you take the whole of season 2 out of context, in that tape alone that Comer submitted she gave a performance that wiped the floor with any of her fellow nominees in that category that year did in the entire seasons of their shows that year.

First of all , Atlanta was also very deserving of this win.

But the sixth season had some of the best episodes of the entire series. Judge, Georgia , Qatar, Groundbreaking were enough to make this Emmy a worthy win.Why are you reporting this post? (optional):Not now
