Hunting was legitimately shocking to me. It hits you like a locomotive.

This has to be Brian Cox’s tape.

I wonder if both Cox and Strong submit This is Not For Tears whether they will vote split or if Strong will win. I kind of see it in a strange Edie Falco winning over Lorraine Bracco/Jodie Comer winning over Sandra Oh possibility.

    Oscars FYC:
"THE POWER OF THE DOG" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"SPENCER" – In all categories especially Director (Pablo Larrain) and Actress (Kristen Stewart)
"SHIVA BABY" – in all categories especially Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Score
"TOGETHER" – Actress (Sharon Horgan), Actor (James McAvoy), Original Screenplay
"LAST NIGHT IN SOHO" – Director (Edgar Wright), S. Actress (Anya Taylor-Joy/Diana Rigg), Cinematography, Costume Design and Production Design
    "CODA" – in all categories

Finally watched The Handamid’s Tale season 3 finale. And wow…’Mayday’ was really something else. I’m still processing what I watched. I don’t think I ever cried so much watching a TV episode. That airport scene got me in ways that I can’t even describe. Rita finally making into Canada and meeting Luke was heartbreaking. I think it’s my favorite TV episode of the year alongside ‘Aberfan’. It’s THAT good. Might be my favorite THT episode so far.

Regarding Dowd and Strahovski, I still stand by my opinion that Dowd was far superior this season. Yvonne was very good (as always) but I was actually kinda disappointed by her material this time. If voters are watching the show, I just don’t see Ann getting snubbed for her best season yet. Yvonne will most likely get in as well, but I could see her getting snubbed pretty easily.

Also, why is Julie Dretzin being campaigned in guest, when she’s in 7 episodes of 13?! Anyway, she delivered a powerhouse performance and should be nominated!!! My second favourite guest performance of the year, just behind Jane Lapotaire. Her submission will definetly be “Witness”.

Why ‘Succession’ Is an Unstoppable Force at the Emmys, A Year After Its Season Aired

No offense to anyone here, but it is sooo easy to sign up for an HBO GO/NOW/WHATEVER account for one month and drop it when you’re done.

If someone is that worried about continuity, they’ll fork over the $15 to catch all the shows in one month. It was already fairly doable before, but it should definitely be doable now.

According to The Handmaid’s Tale Wiki she’s actually in 7. And they also have the episode’s descriptions with her appearances.

Then they’ve got false info because I just checked IMDb, which has her down for 2,5,7,10,11 and 12, which would be 6. Gold Derby is also reporting 6, and Hulu would have surely known had it been more. She’ll stay in guest 🙂

Wtf is this?  How would DVDs help?  Not only does HBO rarely send out complete seasons to voters anyway, but why would they ship out the first season when it is not even eligible this year?  I do not think that that is even allowed.

Why ‘Succession’ Is an Unstoppable Force at the Emmys, A Year After Its Season Aired

What a cheap a** voter. Lol. Somebody take away this person’s privilege to vote! Succession doesn’t want your vote anyway! You work in television and you can’t afford $15 a month for HBO? Okay… just vote for This Is Us then since you get NBC for free with basic cable. I’m assuming this voter doesn’t have Netflix, Hulu or Amazon either. Smh.

Curveball: you can work in television and not have an endless supply of expendable income to, or even want to, subscribe to Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, Disney+, HBOMax…the list goes on. And on. And on.

There will be a cut off for so many people of how many they have.

There isn’t a criteria that all voters must have every subscription service under the sun in order to vote. That’s rather elitist.

People do come late to the game on shows. That’s the nature of being in a world with so much television on any given platform.

I understand them not wanting to watch S2 if they haven’t seen S1. No one would realistically do that, because you’re not actually being fair to the show you’re trying to judge.

The request for DVDs is possibly a little too much. But what would you rather them do? Ask for help to access other seasons or go online and watch it illegally?

With eight slots, I have now, for the first time, moved The Morning Show into my predicted lineup. I have been wary about this one throughout (and continue to be), but Jen and Reese are just too attractive (I don’t mean physically) in Hollywood at the moment. Plus, the argument that it’s one of the only new shows that has a shot of getting in has me intrigued as well. I don’t have it going beyond Series, Actress (just Jen) and Supp. Actor, but Carell could definitely be a threat. I took out This Is Us for it, which I just don’t think has the heft to get in this year, which is ironic since I do still have Stranger Things in. But ST is something I have more confidence in since it’s been able to amass nominations across the board whereas TIU still hasn’t broken into writing and directing.

If they actually wanted to watch season 1 then they should have kept last year’s DVD

    Can’t if they’re a first time voter.

Or if they didn’t do DVDs last year and it was a link with an ‘expiration’ on?
