When we get something weirder like Moss and Porter
Get real, Uzo Aduba and Matthew are winning.
He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.July 22, 2021 at 3:22 pm #1204358332It’s just weird to me predict O’Connor to win alongside MJ (who i think will win). I also don’t have much faith on Billy Porter because the Emmys are avoiding repeats win lately, so idk, a combo of MJ and O’Connor feels weird as hell to me.
Have the Emmys really been avoiding repeats recently? Garner, Borstein, Hader, Dinklage, McKinnon, Louis-Dreyfus, and Tambor have all won multiple times since the tape system was removed.

Not a write-in vote for Phoebe?
July 22, 2021 at 3:24 pm #1204358339Elisabeth Moss should be clearing for giving the best performance of the year

The number of repeat winners is on average the same under both systems: 2-3. I believe that excluded guest categories too. We had a crazy year in like 2018 where there were no repeats though.

And that is a fact. She blows her very strong competition out of the water.

That’s really more on the supporting categories and it’s becoming less and less likely
Bill Hader really hadn’t an alternative and JLD as soon as she got real competition she lost. Not a write-in vote for Phoebe?
Her neck is coming for those voters neck who snubbed her

Bill Hader really hadn’t an alternative and JLD as soon as she got real competition she lost.I don’t think it makes much sense though to say that the lead winners failed to repeat because they had won before. Usually it’s because their shows underperformed in nominations and/or got no major wins or because they faced uniquely strong competition (Brosnahan easily would have beaten anyone who didn’t have as massive of a wave of support as PWB did in 2019 for example). Pose could easily just not win anything and fall in the face of a sweep from The Crown. But if Rodriguez is strong enough to beat Corrin, I don’t think Porter having won before will be what stops him from beating O’Connor.
July 23, 2021 at 11:06 am #1204359491Totally unpopular opinion but I don’t think Anderson is that unbeatable, don’t see a lot of passion for her performance, Someone like Wiley, Aunjuane or even Brewer could win here.

As they should but I think Anderson is safe to win even if the crown doesn’t win anything else acting wise
July 23, 2021 at 11:13 am #1204359518Her snatching the SAG secured her win darling.
July 23, 2021 at 11:15 am #1204359525Anderson is one of the biggest locks of the night. She’s not losing, specially with a SAG win over three lead performances.
July 23, 2021 at 11:25 am #1204359544Gillian is locked, but it has more to do with weak competition (in terms of awards viability) and her position in industry (and of course, her strong work in The Crown). SAG is becoming one of the least reliable precursors these days.

When it comes to lead performances yes but John Lithgow also won for The Crown and ended up winning the Emmy as well.
