    We’ve been predicting the wrong royal duo to win all along

    It’s the king and queen of ballroom.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    Hun.. it’s clearly between O’Connor and Porter.

    and nothing against those two who like the world has told me are the front runners and my number two and three lol. Their winning would be equally as fun for me but going with Rhys since I think this won’t go to the crown win wise if it’s going to possibly get actress and probs supporting actress

    Gurl, he lost every precursor he got nominated for to Josh O’Connor (the category frontrunner) and wasn’t even nominated at SAG.

    hoping for a shock on Emmy night 🙂

    Drama Series

    1. The Crown
    2. The Handmaid’s Tale
    3. The Mandalorian
    4. Pose
    5. Bridgerton
    6. Lovecraft Country
    7. This is Us
    8. The Boys

    Thoughts: The Crown is winning (as it should).

    Drama Actress

    1. Emma Corrin
    2. MJ Rodriguez
    3. Elisabeth Moss
    4. Uzo Aduba
    5. Olivia Colman
    6. Jurnee Smollett

    Thoughts: This race has become a lot tighter than I thought it would thanks to the over-performance of The Handmaid’s Tale. I’m sticking with Corrin purely because she’s got the newcomer aspect going for her, her show is probably going to be winning drama series and The Crown is the nominations leader (I mean even Claire Foy got in lol). But Moss and Rodriguez should not be counted out. The fact McKenna Grace alone got in suggests that these voters have seen this season of the show and they could be quite taken by Moss’ performance this season. That being said Moss has already lost before for a season of The Handmaid’s Tale that had the most drama acting nominations to an actress with a strong narrative from a stronger season in awards performance of The Crown so she very could lose again. Rodriguez is a big threat here with the narrative she has and how well Pose performed but it’s hard to tell whether she’s another Zendaya or another Sandra Oh/Issa Rae.

    Drama Actor

    1. Josh O’Connor
    2. Billy Porter
    3. Rege-Jean Page
    4. Matthew Rhys
    5. Sterling K. Brown
    6. Jonathan Majors

    Thoughts: This is going to be unpopular but I ironically feel more confident in O’Connor winning than I do in Corrin. Voters will be well aware this is their last chance to award him, he’s a big rising star and he’s in the drama series winner. He arguably faced tougher competition at the winter awards and lost SAG (who seem to love Jason Bateman quite a bit) so he does seem to have quite a bit of support. Rege-Jean Page could win but his narrative doesn’t seem as strong and whilst one could argue Billy Porter is in a similar position to Elisabeth Moss when it comes to the win (Emmy winners for these roles delivering their most acclaimed performances on the show to date), Pose didn’t perform nearly as strong as The Handmaid’s Tale in these categories (Jackson missed). Likewise I don’t think these voters are going to give Billy Porter his second Emmy for Pose before they give MJ Rodriguez her first.

    Drama S. Actor

    1. Michael K. Williams
    2. Tobias Menzies
    3. O-T Fagbenle
    4. Giancarlo Esposito
    5. Bradley Whitford
    6. Chris Sullivan
    7. John Lithgow
    8. Max Minghella

    Thoughts: Emmy winning Crown actors Lithgow and Foy got nominated again! Sorry as a Crown fan I felt that was a nerdy fact I had to point out haha. I’m going with Williams for now because of his narrative but he really does feel like a default frontrunner and I wonder if Lovecraft‘s cancellation might impact its chances of wins (voting took place before the cancellation). Is Williams going to pull a Kristin Chenoweth? We shall see. Tobias Menzies could win if they go all out for The Crown like they did with Schitt’s Creek last year. The actors do seem to have seen this season of The Handmaid’s Tale so O-T Fagbenle could perhaps benefit from standout notices but he could also end up like Yvonne Strahovski in 2018. Other than that anyone else truly would be surprising. I hear Whitford has no note-worthy material in this season of The Handmaid’s Tale but he also faces internal competition and I think Giancarlo Esposito only wins an Emmy in this category when he’s on a show actors actually have an overwhelming sense of passion towards and/or doesn’t face internal competition.

    Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

    1. Gillian Anderson
    2. Helena Bonham Carter
    3. Samira Wiley
    4. Madeleine Brewer
    5. Aunjanue Ellis
    6. Emerald Fennell
    7. Yvonne Strahovski
    8. Ann Dowd

    Thoughts: Her royal highness is winning the 2nd Emmy that she should already have won for Bleak House. Or Great Expectations? Or Hannibal! Or The Fall?! Or American Gods?!?! Or Sex Education!!!!!!!!

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    Queen Elisabeth Moss really said:

    She’s coming. And as you see, she’s being underestimated once again. Voters watched this season and they saw that she did THAT.

    There is no underestimating of Moss, her show exploded and everyone is considering her lol.
    It’s just that The Crown still performed quite hugely and Pose also overperformed, two things can coexist.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);

    Anyone who has her lower than 3rd is kidding themselves.

    I can’t believe I have to wait until the end of August for this season to finish airing over here lmao 🙁 ! Am already enjoying her work this season so far though (I find each of the four episodes I’ve seen to be worthy tapes for her and none of them are the standout episodes I’ve seen people praising…)

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    So, The Crown is winning writing and directing too? Any possible threat?

    It will be Fairytale in writing right? The passion on that episode is way too big.

    War is nominated in writing. You must mean directing.
