    Actors love the type of performance Gillian gives. And they also love her. I would be pretty shell-shocked if she lost.

    SAG were the first indicators of support for people like Garner and Crudup in recent years. They have missed a couple of stuff here and there but they are still way more reliable than something like the Globes and CC.

    A Negroni. Sbagliato. With Prosecco in it.

    If Anderson loses I don’t think The Crown wins a single award on emmy night. If that sounds ludicrous, it’s not as ludicrous as Anderson losing.

    FYC: All things Succession, particularly Kieran Culkin

    If Gillian loses i might as well die, because that would be the most wtf loss ever.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    I’m not sure if anyone has asked this specific question already (so sorry if someone has!), but who do you think is a bigger lock: Gillian Anderson for Drama S. Actress or Jason Sudeikis for Comedy Actor? Sorry to bring this up here, but just since we’re on the subject of how locked Gillian Anderson is and everything.

    MKW’s tape is a strong one, so maybe this is finally where the Emmys decide to make history in supporting actor in a drama series. I would only be concerned if voters think it’s a wasted vote to pick someone to win from a cancelled series. The precedent is certainly there, but it hasn’t happened in a long time. With the show’s high nominations count, I think voters will want to award it at least one high-profile win on the main telecast, and show solidarity with Misha Green.

    I think the one problem is that Michael K. Williams has pretty much the exact same narrative as Giancarlo Esposito, who along with Tobias Menzies, make up the top three in the category. Overdue veteran with potential to make history is exactly what you can say about Esposito, and while Lovecraft Country is stronger with the actors branch, The Mandalorian is much stronger overall.

    Esposito doesn’t have the performance though. He’s basically a guest performance that only has a single notable episode.

    Not to mention his best episode was in the first season where he was a guest

    Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

    There are way too many categories for history to factor into a vote for a supporting Emmy.  What concerns me about Michael K. Williams is whether Lovecraft Country is something that seems strong because of all of its nominations, but has actually inspired significant apathy, like how widely-nominated Better Call Saul and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt could not get what should have been getable wins for Jonathan Banks and Tituss Burgess.

    Elisabeth Moss should be clearing for giving the best performance of the year

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    I’d say Sudeikis. But that’s purely because whilst I think Anderson would certainly have been competitive for the win in a normal year, I don’t think she would have been locked for the win. On the other hand aside from Bill Hader and maybe Nicholas Hoult, I can’t imagine anyone else really being strong enough to beat Sudeikis in a normal field (even though Ted Lasso might not necessarily have won series in a more competitive field).

    FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
