It’s less about the quality of their performances and more that this is merely a recording of a stage musical. It’s not a TV show. They had their awards recognition (a significant one, I might add) at the Tonys. They took away slots from some deserving contenders who are actually on TV shows. It’s upsetting.

I’m stunned by the Hamilton nominations, though thrilled for Groff.

Am hoping the Hamilton actors split votes to pave the way to a very deserving Evan Peters win.  Camp not making it is shocking, but also helps Peters.

reminder that nomination overperformance doesn’t equal wins. Small Axe overpefromed with BAFTAs but IMDY cleaned up. Happens all the time with movies and shows. So I don’t think Winslet, etc are sure wins just because their shows overpeformed with noms.
