Finally got around to honoring my promise to give Julia 2 episodes and I am on episode 4 now. It’s good. I find the men to be written in very 2 dimensional ways but I am sure that is how women tend to feel about most shows written by men.

The performances are strong but I am surprised by how much I enjoy the supporting performances so far. Bebe Neuwirth is fantastic and if she got a supporting nomination I wouldn’t hate it.

She’s not on the ballot unfortunately.

    Well, shit.

Still, she’s wonderful in the series.

Kinda feel similar to you but Brett being the only acting winner for Ted Lasso feels off. I can’t really see who else wins that category though. I think the split with Carrigan will end up killing Winkler’s chances. Maybe it becomes clearer when nominations come out?

If someone upsets Goldstein, my money is on Winkler, but Carrigan could provoke a vote split and give Goldstein the gold

Abbott Elementary is really taking it isn’t it?

    FYC:

All things Succession, Severance, Ted Lasso, The Great and The White Lotus! Also, Colin Firth and Janelle James while you're at it.

Well, shit. Still, she’s wonderful in the series.

Neuwirth really was quite a captivating standout. Whilst the each member of the main ensemble gets to have their own meaty sub-plots to deal with they all felt very much secondary to Lancashire and Pierce’s characters but Neuwirth really created a character that was so lived-in and homely that really only strengthened the dynamic Pierce and Lancashire’s characters had with hers. An ideal supporting performance.

It’s bizarre how she isn’t on the ballot when so many other people from the show are. I assume maybe she didn’t want to submit herself? It’s not like she’s an industry unknown.
