Ghosts is a very fun show and Rose McIver deserves a breakthrough, she was superb on iZombie (yeah it’s a strange show but she killed it).

Ghosts is a very fun show

I’ll be very intrigued to see it. I’m such a big fan of the original.

Then again, I do think it’s just as likely that they have something brand new waiting to premiere that we’re not going to see coming. No one saw Russian Doll coming this time three years ago, I sense they’ll have something like that in the spring to push; we’ll just have to see if its received in a similar manner.

According to IMDB they have in various stages of pre-to-post-production

-three limited series also tagged as comedy which presumably could end up extending – one with Kristen Bell, one with Mike Myers playing a bunch of characters, and one with Steven Yeun and Ali Wong

-two British series, one with Rowan Atkinson and one with Catherine Tate (perhaps BAFTAs?)

-the Tim Burton-directed Wednesday Addams series

-Melissa McCarthy’s God’s Favourite Idiot (there are some indications this is DOA however)

Whether any of them make this year I don’t know.

I’m sure the Catherine Tate show is making eligibility. When it was announced production had apparently started and it’s slated for an “early 2022” premiere.

Not that it matters so much (she didn’t make it in for It’s a Sin after all) but it’s interesting to note that Lydia West has been cast as a series regular in the Mike Myers series. Between that, the Apple show she’s going to be in with Uma Thurman and the new Stanley Tucci/David Tennant miniseries she seems like someone who is going to breakthrough sooner or later with the amount of roles they’ve been offered. And to think she’s only had three shows air thus far in her career rn…

Yeah, I saw somewhere it’s wrapped.

I have absolutely no idea how the voting body would take to a Mike Myers show.

West has kind of a lightness in her drama at times that might translate in comedy.

Catherine Tate is GOAT level in Doctor Who – shame on the BAFTA jury for snubbing her that year! If Hard Cell is any good I’ll root for her because she’s so overdue in recognition.

I Hate Suzie‘s production company (who also coincidentally will be producing the new iteration of Doctor Who) is being bought by Sony so I’m holding out hope that this could qualify I Hate Suzie season 2 as an American production in the eyes of the TV academy when it returns for the 2022-2023 season (at least so we can vote for Piper at the Gold Derby awards lol).

SNL being nominated last year was fine because it was a weak field but it better not take away spots from actual deserving performances in actual comedy series this year.

I just don’t understand why you can’t have a variety performer Emmy to incorporate the SNL actors if you really want to give them awards? I’m sure Lorne Michaels wouldn’t mind it lol.
