Except you can see the it jump from a steady level of nothing until the show started airing. This was a thin argument I figured nobody here would be foolish enough to make. Either you are being deliberately obtuse or just really bad at reading data and graphs.
Correlation does not imply causation. I work with data and information and where I work, data is literally life or death so it’s certainly not a case of being bad at reading data and graphs lol.
Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directingSeverance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.
May 10, 2022 at 3:48 pm #1204948533I feel like I’ve been seeing sooooo many ads for Tehran lately, and all focusing on Glenn Close! I don’t know that it’s happening, but Apple is really pushing her.

Then you’re being deliberately obtuse. Thanks for clearing that up.
May 10, 2022 at 6:16 pm #1204948603For Drama Series, I have the following as “locks”
– Succession
– Squid Game
– Ozark
– Better Call Saul
– Yellowstone
So question: Can I add Severance as a “lock” for a series nomination?

I would say Severance is much closer to being a lock than Yellowstone.
Have a great day if you see this!

The BatmanMay 10, 2022 at 6:38 pm #1204948612If this helps this is total views for the cycle on Wikipedia for the top 20 shows:
(in my mucking about with this – 1 million appears to be the low end of nominees under this system – ie this is where Succession was in S1)
As per most things online Wikipedia skews slightly male and generally underrepresents 55+, so something like Yellowstone is probably significantly undercounted and younger skewing shows are over. Also this is English language so make of that what you will.
1. Squid Game 24.3 million
2. Euphoria 11.1 million
3. Loki 9.25 million
4. Succession 7.718 million
5. Yellowstone 7.662 million
6. Ozark 6.234 million
7. Bridgerton 6.003 million
8. Better Call Saul 4.1 million (airing)
9. Stranger Things 3.801 million (pre-release)
10. Yellowjackets 3.109 million
11. The Morning Show 2.608 million
12. Severance 2.553 million
13. The Gilded Age 2.5 million
14. Killing Eve 2.473 million
15. This Is Us 1.938 million
16. Winning Time 1.335 million
17. Pachinko 1.302 million
18. The Good Fight 1.067 million
19. Tokyo Vice 1.035 million (airing)
20. Evil 1.018 million

I would personally love that, as I much prefer Severance.
But Yellowstone did get a SAG nom for ensemble this year and is a more established name in the industry.
Regardless, glad to hear you think Severance has a great shot!May 10, 2022 at 8:51 pm #1204948666Severance wasn’t eligible for any of the winter awards but it’s gonna be top 3 critics aggregate by the end of the year and it’s the most buzzed about new drama of the year.
May 10, 2022 at 10:14 pm #1204948712I DEMMAND (kindly and friendly) you all put Mandy Moore in your prediction, we owe this to her immense talent, promote her as much as you can. Even if she does not get in, you can all survive one wrong prediction. Act now!
May 10, 2022 at 11:17 pm #1204948726Do people really expect Severance, a sc-fi existential slow-burn drama to get tweets with 50k likes lol? It’s astounding that a series like this was able to connect with the general audience and be discussed every week thanks to its brilliant writing/directing.

The primary place I would expect Severance to be doing well, all things considered about the demographics of everything, is Reddit and IMDB, both which skew youngish-to-middle aged and relatively male and genre focused. It’s doing pretty well in both of those.
May 10, 2022 at 11:58 pm #1204948733On the topic of things buzzing where it’s appropriate for the show, a very good argument for Kelly Reilly for Yellowstone on a compilation of her scenes over on Facebook here (read the comments – it’s a public link if you don’t have FB)
May 11, 2022 at 1:05 am #1204948755If Mr Robot, a show that aired on a network the Emmys hadn’t cared about since Monk, was able to make the cut in Series based on its status as the buzzy new show of the season, then Severance should be fine given it’s the main drama push of a huge network that we know voters watch.

You know what, I think she might actually get nominated in Lead.
