Speaking of This is Us the way Justin Hartley, Mandy Moore (I know she got in once but still) and Susan Kelechi Watson continue to get robbed but Chris Sullivan has gotten multiple nominations..

I think there’s a chance that Sarah Snook will be submitted as lead this time.

I wonder if she can land a nom in this category..

I’m honestly stunned how Susan has never been nominated with how much her profile has risen during the show’s run and her placement on the ballot alphabetically. I wonder if she would have made it in 2019 with 8 slots (partly because I mean who else was there that year? Keeley Hawes and Rhea Seehorn were (sadly) non-factors).

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Carrying conversation from the last thread, never say never but Milo and Mandy are done I think. They should’ve been able to get in this year, and a last season narrative doesn’t mean a ton when the Academy has totally moved on (Claire Danes).

I’m actually not surprised Mandy couldn’t make it back this year given how strong the top six were; a duo from the Series sweeper; Moss and Smollett in 15+ mom’s shows that actors loved; fan favourite Rodriguez with finale season love & an excellent campaign and finally Emmy machine Aduba. So I’m counting her out completely for S6.

But there really is no reason that Milo should’ve missed to (I presume) Rhys.

    Oscars FYC:

"Lamb" – International Feature and all categories

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

Perhaps I’m jumping ahead of myself here and I may slightly be biased towards her (although I will probably root more for Snook if she delivers a performance like she did last season or Coon if she delivers once again because jesus that woman is so f***ing under awarded) but I have a feeling Margulies is going to sweep the winter awards à la Anderson and then build up too much momentum to be stopped.

Whilst it hasn’t been so long ago since the end of The Good Wife (just like Gillian Anderson has been working non stop one British television – and on Hannibal – since The X Files ended), this is her “comeback” into the awards conversation. She’s quite a well respected veteran and is one of the faces of the golden age of television so there’s a big narrative at play here. Her performance on The Morning Show seems to be receiving a lot of acclaim and her character looks like it’s going to be a key part of the season. She could win at the Critics Choice if Snook stays in lead there (like how Hartley stayed in supporting there last year) and with how barren the field is, how much SAG seems to like The Morning Show and how much they seem to like her (she’s the second most awarded actress in SAG history) she seems like a likely nom there and potential winner if last year told us anything.

It’s too early to say for certain but I can see things lining up for her especially if Succession gets both Smith-Cameron and Snook in and Coon and Nixon both deliver popular acclaimed performances with passion on The Gilded Age and they split votes.

For final season of Better Call Saul, Bob Odenkirk better win!!! And Rhea Seehorn needs to be nominated. She could win if nommed.

Neither is happening. And that’s sad
