Haha didn’t even notice this! I was in a rush to get this out before Scenes from a Marriage lol. Also, the amount of times I kept accidentally writing Succession after non-Succession actors’ names because I’m predicting so many of them 💀💀💀

They would Hun, it’s a big show, probably the biggest on the cycle and it’s reception is great. Way better than the biggest show from last season (Bridgerton) who still got 1 acting nom.

I’m just not sure who tho.

I think Squid Game can get actors in but Netflix do need to be pretty strategic campaigning wise and I wouldn’t be predicting that heavily.

4+ unknowns (to US audiences) under the current voting system is statistically unrealistic in drama as they are unlikely to get any name checks.

Netflix would be smart to chose one or two people and focus on that (if Stranger Things is borderline eligible, Park-Hae Soo – who I personally have seen a lot of praise for – might be a good bet here if Netflix don’t have Harbour nor anyone for Ozark as internal competition.

Last year The Boys got 0 (for a second season), Bridgerton got 1, Lovecraft did well but 3 of their 4+1 guest were previous nominees, Perry Mason got 2 but both were previous winners under this system. It’s tough, and particularly for pre-Christmas releases (not to mention the practicalities of interpreters for possibly virtual campaigning that isn’t as high production values as something like Fallon might be more do-able for one or two than trying to campaign 4-6. It’s not insurmountable, but it requires buy-in by multiple parties)

    Go Kim Joo-ryoung!

As of the guest categories, other than Lee Yoo-mi, they should really try and submit Gong Yoo. He had a small, but important role in the show!

    FYC 2022 Emmys:

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Sandra Oh in "Killing Eve"

Best Actress in a Comedy Series: Sandra Oh in "The Chair"

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Kim Joo-ryoung in "Squid Game"

I’d be surprised if they didn’t.

Yoo is the closet thing the show has to “a name” to western audiences, he appears almost immediately in the pilot so even those so ditch the show after one episode are aware of him and his role is just so wickedly delicious.

    Oscars FYC:

"Lamb" – International Feature and all categories

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories
