Honestly, even though I (personally) think S3 is not quite as good as S2, at this point they seem very win-competitive if not win-likely.

I think Strong or Cox will probably win Best Actor. I am a little less sold on the other categories. I think the supporting guys cancel each other out. I think I need to see more of the season/performances/work out her placement before I can make a decision on Snook.

I fear she might get snubbed darling.

Well if it makes room for her I don’t mind!

I don’t think Smith-Cameron has the material this season so far. I hope that changes. I’m kind of disappointed.

I do think this shows biggest flaw was, and still is, the fact that it doesn’t flesh out their female characters enough. I don’t mean in a tokenistic way, I mean there are potentially very interesting characters there and they’re under-utilised.

Gerri and Smith Cameron were a perfect chance to do that and Abbass going to guest doesn’t help.

Yeah, I was expecting Smith-Cameron to have something to chew on, as per the reviews saying she did, and while she’s great as she always is, I don’t really think she’s getting as strong material as say Cox, Strong, Snook, or Macfadyen. Apparently, that should change tonight? But I’m not sure.

I still think Smith-Cameron can happen because she could very well have been 9th last season round and because it just won drama series Succession will undoubtedly grow in nominations.

However I would probably put her 8th (below Julianna Margulies and Cynthia Nixon and above Susan Kelechi Watson and Chrissy Metz). Whether The Gilded Age is a contender and how much voters take to Squid Game will be key to her nomination chances.

FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Oh I agree, but I think that happens on general sentiment for the show and/or the competition rather than great material to chew on (at this stage). To her benefit supporting actress is easily the most open drama category and that will help too.

Agree with this. It doesn’t help the competition is quite packed in supporting actor this year.

Returning nominees and performances from likely SAG ensemble nominated shows:

– Jonathan Banks, Better Call Saul
– Nicholas Braun, Succession
– Billy Crudup, The Morning Show
– Mark Duplass, The Morning Show
– Giancarlo Esposito, Better Call Saul
– Park Hae-Soo, Squid Game
– Matthew Macfadyen, Succession
– Chris Sullivan, This is Us
– Oh Yeong-su, Squid Game

And that’s excluding the possibilities The Old Man and The Gilded Age are contenders (and thus John Lithgow and Morgan Spector) or the possibility that Carell could drop down to supporting.

FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Yeah. I think people get really excited about the prospect of their show sweeping nominations down the line but the reality is when it has happened categories have had little to no returning nominees in strong shows.

Know better than to predict just purely on what the internet says, but I can’t help but think Gong Yoo is in the top half of Guest Actor after seeing this viral tweet. He’s arguably the most known prior cast member to Western audiences and is prominently featured in the pilot, so even people who’ve only seen 1 episode of the show and dropped out, are at least aware of his character (as evident by the AstroWorld viral tweet).

Him and Lee are definitely coming for their guest noms. Can’t wait 👏
