    Whoa re everyone’s personal 5?

    I’d go:

    1. Station Eleven
    2. Under the Banner
    3. We Own This City
    4. Candy
    5. The White Lotus

I decided to change my final slot to The White Lotus which I didn’t love either.

Somewhat in an awards sense, but I don’t get the impression they’ve pushed it commercially at all? (whereas they did with The Fallout).

Might be regional. I still know nothing about The Fallout but watch The Survivor

Not necessarily a limited thing, but I’ll be honest I wouldn’t be shocked to see one of the Prime or Paramount+ shows surprise that no one’s predicting.

IF that demographic pushes a show through that we’re not thinking about it would likely be 1883, right? And maybe Elliott for Actor? I’ve been thinking about that demo getting Yellowstone in for Drama but I’ve never been sure about Limited.

Only The White Lotus would have made my top 6 last year.

I’d say 1883, or Inventing Anna overperforming.

Only The White Lotus would have made my top 6 last year.

In general, this is my problem with this year: I liked last year’s contenders more, and I was really refreshed by the variety of options.

I think this year feels a little bit regressive. There’s some nice shows, but none of them feels very 2021 / future of TV to me (especially compared to something like I May Destroy You).

I also honestly wish Squid Game was running in limited.

Whoa re everyone’s personal 5? I’d go: 1. Station Eleven 2. Under the Banner 3. We Own This City 4. Candy 5. The Staircase I don’t even love the stair case but it is a weaker field than I remember. Lot of bad, popular options, though.

    1. Station Eleven
    2. Maid
    3. The White Lotus
    4. Love Life
    5. Time

Haven’t seen We Own This City and The Staircase yet and am reserving judgement on Under the Banner of Heaven until its finishes airing.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")

    1. Station Eleven
    2. Maid
    3. Under the Banner of Heaven
    4. The White Lotus

Definitely prefer this year. All four shows mentioned would make great winners and just bring something different to the table, whether it be ambition, concept or execution. Only Small Axe managed to stand out like that last year otoh. Outside of it, I wasn’t really passionate about anything else even if there were a couple of other shows that I ended up liking on some level.

    The Dropout

    Maid

    The White Lotus

    Dopesick

I would vote for Firth for the Staircase, but I’d probably end up with Landscapers for series.

I really want to watch Station Eleven but I’ve been a little bit too affected by the pandemic and I need to pick my moment. I feel very light on supporting actor options and it’s the show I’ve heard the most raves about ensemble wise.

I think my general feeling is I feel less passionate about performances which makes me less in to 2022 than 2021.

There are some decent high quality shows.

    1. The White Lotus
    2. Maid
    3. Station Eleven
    4. The Staircase
    5. I’m struggling here because I didn’t find anything compelling enough but I think I’ll go with The Girl from Plainville because at least I was able to finish it but I really would never nominate this in any of the last previous years.

Hopefully the 2023 field ends up being better.
