Predicting Jake Lacy with 100/1 odds TO THE END, BITCHES! Predicting Bartlett without Lacy is churlish.
June 25, 2022 at 12:23 pm #1204996134IF it gets in then I think people should watch out for a possible win in September. The passion for the show is really ardent

Alright listen. You can’t just go and post these without any warning and derail my afternoon.
June 25, 2022 at 4:15 pm #1204996292I’ve seen multiple ads for WeCrashed today. Apple does seem to be on board campaigning wise, maybe it will surprise us on nomination day.
June 25, 2022 at 4:19 pm #1204996294I’m actually shockingly confident about Station Eleven getting into limited series mainly because there’s such a huge glut of true crime or “scammer shows” that voters are going to have a hard time deciding which ones to prioritize. People are going remember shows like Station Eleven or The White Lotus instead of Inventing The Thing About The Dropout from Plainville vs Carole Under the Banner of The Staircase and Tommy. They might gravitate towards the novelty of a show that accidentally reflects reality instead of intentionally.
The amount of crime and “true stories” based limited series this year has been overwhelming even for me, a regular consumer of the genre. It also really feels like most of those shows were simply created just for awards. I also felt that watching Mrs America 2 years ago and it ended up underperforming. I definitely hope voters are gonna prioritize more genuine and creative series like Station 11 and Maid.
June 25, 2022 at 4:36 pm #1204996296I finished UTBOH today and Andrew Garfield really blew me away in those last 2 episodes, really powerful stuff, i wouldn’t be mad if he wins it even tho I’m rooting for Colin.
It’s a great field of Actors this year, makes last year look like nothing.
FYC:
All things Succession, Severance, Ted Lasso, The Great and The White Lotus! Also, Colin Firth and Janelle James while you're at it.

The way we’ve had both “The Thing About Pam and Tommy” and “Anatomy of A Very British Scandal” in the same 3 month period.

I’m not going to be predicting it for anything but I think what really helps it as a show is that in spite of it being part of the glut of the scammer series in this cycle, it’s relatively light and bingeable compared to some of its other competitors. Of course that means nothing if no one is watching it but if they are I think the only way anyone can’t get through it is if they really can’t stand the show (which is tbh fair enough). I’m not entirely sure how I actually feel about the show itself and I still really can’t stand Jared Leto (for reasons that aren’t fully related to, although not mutually exclusive from, his style of acting) even though his acting is tolerable in this, but I just can’t stop watching the show because of how gripped I am by the story and Hathaway’s performance.
June 25, 2022 at 9:19 pm #1204996410I just can’t bring myself to watch WeCrashed. I truly disliked the inspiration from a story perspective. I have no interest in watching unchecked narcissism run rampant unless it’s Homelander at this point.

Every single character is simply unlikable, the story starts interesting but then it crashes (those 8 episodes will make you wish for only 5). Both leads are obnoxious, annoying and entitled white trash. Nothing else. Also, the show itself is really meh and forgettable.
Leto is gonna stress you like you’ve never been stressed in your life (and you’ll wonder how on earth he has a fucking Oscar) while Hathaway will be the only saving grace of that trainwreck.
If I were you, I’d wait for a Hathaway nod at the Emmys to even consider watching it because it isn’t a “must see” kind of show and it’s awards prospect are not existent outside of Hathaway.
June 25, 2022 at 10:00 pm #1204996424I actually liked Leto’s performance in Dallas Buyer’s Club and thought he deserved to win. But everything else makes sense.
June 26, 2022 at 8:43 am #1204996664I just hope the supporting ladies from Impeachment get a nod.
Judith Lith, Annaleigh Ashford, Margo Martindale and Edie Falco were amazing.
Sarah and Beanie were too, but I know thats kinda of impossible in this state of the race.June 26, 2022 at 8:53 am #1204996679Edie Falco and Margo Martindale have potential to be possible namechecks. Judith Light and Sarah Paulson less so.
~Not much active now due to a higher studies course
~still love watching films and television shows
~Everything Everywhere All At Once in all categories.
~Currently watching Abbott ElementaryJune 26, 2022 at 10:33 am #1204996802Edie Falco and Margo Martindale have potential to be possible namechecks.
Margo Martindale hasn’t ever been nominated for a show that wasn’t already in the awards conversation (comparatively Sarah Paulson has a much stronger track record, at least when it comes to Murphy projects) so I wouldn’t exactly call her someone with strong name-check potential when it comes to getting nominated. Edie Falco is a good shout though considering she’s only ever missed when on the ballot for an under-seen Louis C.K. project and a cancelled network procedural with poor reviews.
