If anybody still had doubts, Jennifer Coolidge will play Tanya again on The White Lotus S2
If I recall the rules correctly, that now means the show definitely shouldn’t be competing in Limited. right? It really annoys me how cynical HBO are with that rule. We’ve known about season 2 for months, they obviously could’ve moved it to Comedy earlier.

They could have waited to announce what character Coolidge was playing for at least a month

The Emmys made a rule that allows White Lotus to compete in Limited, so it should be fine over here.

Actually, it has always being competitive. Bartlett and Coolidge are almost locks, the show is top 2 in Directing (with Dopesick) and Writing (with Maid), it’s also the frontrunner for Casting and could win Score and Editing.

there were 3 episodes within the term and 3 out of term.

And the safest thing is that they will not take it into account next year.June 22, 2022 at 11:46 pm #1204993582Under the Banner of Heaven in the Hollywood Reporter list of the 10 best 2022 shows.

Interesting that there’s no Dropout or Staircase on this list. Yes,  UTBOH is imperfect, but there’s passion for the takeaway and ambition of that show within the industry. The Staircase and The Dropout are well-performed dramatizations of stories we already knew… I wonder if that will start to limit their buzz in such a stack race.
Chris Rosen took The Dropout off his predictions yesterday fwiw

ReplyCopy URLJune 23, 2022 at 11:35 am #1204994243I also like how they mentioned both Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel. Even though they both share so little screen time I don’t think you can really mention one without thinking about the other.

They also mention Lawler in the description and call for her to be recognised 💀 they should’ve just committed to all 3.

What I found interesting in the article was how they mentioned it’s almost impossible to forget the performances on Station Eleven and I don’t think I can agree more. This is obviously a very well written, directed and produced show (it’s my personal frontrunner in all three of those categories haha, in writing and directing for “Hurricane”) with a score of note-worthy technicals but I think the show really is made by the work of its acting ensemble and it’s hard to really talk about the show without talking about how well worn those performances were. Everyone brings a sense of collective vulnerability that really you’d expect everyone to have in the aftermath of a catastrophic flu pandemic and really stands out by making it something of their own. Nabhaan Rizwan’s performance in “Goodbye My Damaged Home” and specifically in that scene still has the same impact it did when I watched the show.

Their scene together at the end was everything though.
